Here are just a few of many Georgia prospects in Atlanta on Thursday.
2024 – DL – TA Cunningham – Johns Creek
TA Cunningham is considered one of the best players in the entire country by every metric you look at. Here at Prep Redzone, Cunningham is ranked as the 4th best player in the state and 1st best defensive lineman in the state. At 6’6 270 with speed, Cunningham is practically unblockable. Can line up on the edge or line up on the inside. Can rush the passer from any spot and is extremely physical in the run game. Cunningham holds offers from schools like Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State, USC, and numerous others. Expect Cunningham to take plenty of visits before the 2022 season starts.
2023 – DL – Terry Simmons Jr – Calvary Day
Simmons is another one of the notable defensive linemen that visited Georgia Tech for the spring game, and it is not surprising at all to see that he is on the radar for schools like GT. Simmons stands at 6’2 305 pounds and is one of the more explosive athletes you will see on film. Can line up all over the defensive front, but his size might translate better to the interior spots. He has an extremely explosive first step and gets to the ball quickly. Once he gets there, he can lay a pretty nasty hit on the ball carrier. He also uses his very active hands to fight off blockers and toss them aside. A true disruptive threat upfront that can win with both his power and his speed. In March alone, Simmons has added offers from UCF and Minnesota. Prior to his Georgia Tech visit, he also made a stop in Orlando to check out UCF.
2024 – CB – Jivan Baly– Meadowcreek
Baly is just a Sophomore, but he too has garnered plenty of interest on the recruiting trail. Baly has the perfect combination of size and speed that colleges crave in defensive backs. His length allows him to step up and play press coverage on receivers and his speed allows him to back off and break on the ball quickly. When you tie those two things together, it makes for a pretty prolific defensive back prospect. Baly’s Georgia Tech visit continues what has already been a big month for him on the trail. Last week, Baly picked up an offer from Florida State after attending their Junior day.
2024 – OL – Waltclaire Flynn Jr – Grayson
Flynn is yet another big lineman that was in Atlanta on Thursday. This time, he plays on the offensive side of the ball. While Flynn is a big and physical prospect at 6’1 and hovering around 300 pounds, his quickness and motor are what stand out on film. Can run downfield with skill position players to make blocks, he can also peel out and be used perfectly as a lead blocker. Once he gets his hands on a defender, he will drive them downfield until the whistle blows or they are on the ground. Flynn is ranked as the number 1 offensive lineman in the state here at Prep Redzone and holds offers from schools like Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and Arkansas.
2024 – EDGE – Kylan Vox – Grayson
Vox was one of several Grayson prospects in attendance on Thursday. At 6’5 215, Vox is one of the most relentless pass rushers you will find on film in the 2024 class. He does a great job of using his length to keep space between him and blockers, and his combination of footwork and pass-rushing moves makes him almost impossible to block around the edge. Has great pursuit skills with long strides that allow him to come around the edge and flush the QB out of the pocket quickly. Georgia Tech isn’t the only PO5 school in on Vox. He has visited schools like Mississippi State and Clemson this month, and he added an offer from Arkansas in February.
