Santae McWilliams Jr Santae McWilliams Jr 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Saraland | 2025 State AL is an elite 2025 prospect in the making and will be debuting as a top 10 prospect in our 2025 Rankings we will be releasing soon. McWilliams has elite speed and quickness, great vision, and plays with his strength very well- all reasons why he was able to post up 1,167 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground last fall. McWilliams has great burst and acceleration out of the backfield, he can take it 0-100 with ease, and with his field vision, that allows for some huge plays to be made. In addition to that, McWilliams doesn’t shy away from contact, he can impose his will on defenders well, and also uses that strength when asked to block. Overall McWilliams has already demonstrated his ability to be a complete, all-around back, and many schools have started taking notice- he’s received offers from Mississippi State, Florida State, and Troy: with his talent, expect to see more heading his way very soon.
Derick Smith Derick Smith 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Southside | 2025 State AL -WR/FS |6’2 180| |Southside| @DerickS53430758 on Twitter
Derick Smith Derick Smith 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Southside | 2025 State AL is another elite 2025 prospect that was insanely productive for Southside last fall, contributing in all three of the phases at wide receiver, free safety, and kick returner. Smith has great size, speed, and strength are ridiculous for a freshman player, and he makes sure to use all of those qualities to his advantage in all phases. Smith dominates in one on one matchups, using his size and strength to physically overpower defensive backs, while also using it to deliver some punishing hits and tackles at safety. His speed is seen in every aspect of his game. He’s a hyperathletic player that can return kicks to the house, catch deep passes, and can pick off quarterbacks with ease, it’s remarkable how much he can do as an underclassman. So far Smith has been receiving loads of attention, receiving offers from Georgia, Auburn, and Michigan within the last month.
J"Marion Burnette-RB|6’1 205| |Andalusia| @JMarionBurnette on Twitter
J"Marion Burnette. Burnette had an insane breakout season last fall as a sophomore, he ended up rushing for a total of 2070 yards and 25 touchdowns and was the focal point of Andalusia’s offense. Simply put, Burnette is a problem for defenses to plan around. His rare combination of size and speed makes it a chore to try and stop, he continually uses that size and power to run down/shake defenders- creating massive gains on the ground routinely. Burnette has been gaining collegiate attention from schools like UAB, USF, and Jackson State, but he just recently landed his first Power 5 offer from Oregon! Expect to see more of those arrive for this 2024, if he replicates any of the success he had last year teams are going to notice more and more.
Zach Underwood Zach Underwood 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Montgomery Catholic | 2023 State AL -LB|6’2 225| |Montgomery Catholic| @the_underwood_8 on Twitter
Zach Underwood Zach Underwood 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Montgomery Catholic | 2023 State AL is a sleeper linebacker in the 2023 class that played some of his best ball in his career last fall for Montgomery Catholic. Underwood does very well for Montgomery, he finds ways to produce both on and off of the ball. When playing on the line of scrimmage Underwood does a great job generating pressure to bring down the quarterback- throughout the year he was consistently in the top sack leaders in the state. When off-ball, Underwood plays against the run incredibly well, he tracks down and lays out some mean hits on the ball carrier. Underwood can flat out lay the wood on guys, making him someone you do not want to encounter in the second level. Underwood has been slept on for a while, but he just got his first offer from Austin Peay! With his ability to thrive in multiple places on the field, Underwood will surely pick up some more attention heading into his senior year.
