Receivers, wideouts, whatever you want to call them, they’re one of those positions that sell tickets. Here I list 5 great receivers that I’m looking forward to seeing in 2022, with most of these guys being underrated talents.
<strong>Byron Center WR <a class="uni-link--implied" href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13412892">[player_tooltip player_id="234518" first="Brady" last="Breit"]</a></strong>
Breit was the first standout receiver I watched during 2021, as I watched him go over the top and moss a few Seaholm DBs. This is a big receiver with excellent ball skills, and I am super excited to see what he can do with another offseason under his belt!
<strong>Catholic Central WR <a class="uni-link--implied" href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/15176705">Joe Mullett</a></strong>
A real underrated talent, Joe Mullett is a speed demon who can make things happen. His T&F stats speak for themselves, as he’s got an 11.48 100M, 22.91 200M, and 50.58 400M. I expect improved Track stats this spring, and I expect more from Mullett with an increased role.
<strong>Rockford WR [player_tooltip player_id="253315" first="Brody" last="Johnson"] </strong>
[player_tooltip player_id="253315" first="Brody" last="Johnson"], a guy who I’ve seen putting in some insane work, will be a problem for opposing teams. He’s ripped and athletic, and he has excellent chemistry with QB [player_tooltip player_id="232200" first="Mac" last="VandenHout"]. Indeed an overlooked guy, he won’t be ignored for too much longer.
<strong>West Catholic WR <a class="uni-link--implied" href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/15015210">[player_tooltip player_id="253301" first="Chaz" last="Vida"]</a></strong>
I really want to see a great redemption story for Vida. Injured in 2021, Vida is a great receiver who can make a lot happen. I know I’m being a bit vague, but he truly hasn’t done too much at the Vastiry level, but he’s a highly touted talent that will do some damage in the Ok-Blue.
<strong>Mona Shores WR <a class="uni-link--implied" href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/12935532">[player_tooltip player_id="243092" first="Jaylen" last="Vinton"]</a></strong>
A very nice prospect from one of our powerhouses, [player_tooltip player_id="243092" first="Jaylen" last="Vinton"], is highly athletic. The 4.42 40 time is blazing, and it’s going to be exciting to see what he can do on one of the most well-coached teams in the state.
