Football University (FBU) kicked off its 2022 camp season this past weekend with a pair of one-day camps in Austin and San Antonio, respectively. It was a big weekend for the one of the longest tenured camps in the country, as the Austin camp was a complete sell out and San Antonio only a had few positions left. Per FBU’s Twitter account, their social media accounts received over 2 million views over the course of the weekend. There were a number of standouts at all positions over the weekend, but here’s a look at the Offensive and Defensive Linemen that earned praise from FBU, with a deeper analysis. [player_tooltip player_id="331944" first="Alister" last="Vallejo"] | Defensive Line | Texas | 2026 By all accounts the Austin camp belonged to Vallejo, who earned the Middle School G Award (MVP) with his performance. The 6-foot-2, 211-pound eighth grader was part of an exceptional line group for Team Austin in the FBU National Championship tournament and seemingly has only improved. We recognized him as a standout back in October but he’s got even better, Great feet and body control for a bigger prospect at this stage. Also played basketball and throws shot put and discuss. Will be at Liberty Hill High School next year. Jason Williams | Defensive Line | Texas | 2026 Williams popped up on my radar a few weeks ago and was not surprised to see him listed by FBU as a top performer. He’s a twitchy edge rusher with violent hands who plays fast, yet under control. Has an advanced arsenal of pass-rush moves and knows the correct situation to use them in. Also a very strong kid, boasting a bench press of 235 pounds and a squat of over 300. Dylan Roemisch | Offensive Line | Texas | 2026 A regular season teammate of the above mentioned Williams at Alamo Jr. High in Midland, Texas, Roemisch looks like he’s on his way to a very promising career at left or right tackle. Has very good feet for a 6-foot-1, 260-pound eighth grader. Patient tackle who doesn’t lunge or overextend himself during 1-on-1’s. Also plays basketball, baseball and track and field. Moses Martinez | Offensive Line | Texas | 2026 A physically mature kid who was also part of the Austin 8th grade team un the FBU National Championship team. Not the biggest linemen by any stretch at 5-foot-8 and 185 pounds, however he moves very well and has solid fundamentals. Size, or lack there of, may eventually catch up with him, but he has done a phenomenal job throughout his middle school career at Bastrop Middle School. Gage Britt-Laupola | Offensive Line | Texas | 2027 A big boy for a seventh grade at 5-foot-11 and 270 pounds, Britt-Laupola earned a spot on the All-Camp team. Came off a busy regular season playing for both his school team, the West Lake Wolves (Atascocita, TX) and his travel ball team, the DEA Dragons. Wide body that moves pretty good laterally and has a nice punch at the point of contact. Cayden Mellette | Offensive Line | Texas | 2028 Another young, big offensive linemen that was a mainstay on the offensive line for team Austin in the FBU National Championship tournament this past December. The young man nicknamed "King" at Roy J. Smith Middle School already has his own logo (per his Instagram) and showed our deservedly. The sixth grader has long limbs and a thick lower body, which has trainers and coaches drooling to develop. Class of 2027 offensive lineman Zane Martin and class of 2028 defensive lineman Regan Smith also earned high praise from FBU, per the article linked in the into.
