The following ball carriers have already seen their fair share of action and it can be expected to only see that grow moving forward. Check out these 2024 RB’s who look to headline the class.
Nate Blount IV Nate Blount IV 5'11" | 220 lbs | RB Brandon | 2024 State MS | Brandon
Blount was an important piece of a young team that went all the way to the state title game in 2021. At 5″11 215lb, the rising junior looks far more mature than his age would indicate. Elite production on the field in 2021 was highlighted by 246 carries for 1442 yards and 17 TD’s, while missing 4 games due to injury. Blount is a true north & south runner who’s best qualities center around power and strength between the tackles with weight room numbers to back it up. Arm tacklers have no shot at getting him to the ground. Patient with the football tucked away with control of body. Speed is average but could be improved with agility training. Doesn’t project as a “burner” but should be serviceable speed wise. Sees and feels the field well. Wise runner. If he can show some improved speed with above average testing numbers his recruitment will heat up early.
Jalen Washington Jalen Washington 5'8" | 190 lbs | RB Houston | 2024 State MS | Houston
Projections for Washington are as an offensive ATH capable of carrying and catching the football in a spread set. Physically Washington is still awaiting some growth which he looks framed for. His overall production on the field has to be accounted for though already. 2021 saw the North MS RB rush for nearly 2,000 yards and 21 TD’s. Sizing in at around 5″7 will scare some scouts and coaches, but the production his numbers prove will not. Well above average speed with impressive strength, as well, considering his current size. Not afraid to lower head at next level and barrel through opponents. Shifty into the secondary with plenty of make you miss potential. Definite name to keep an eye on as he moves into his junior season.
