The series continues on with a third group of players that recruiters will want to know heading into the ’22 season. This third group features multiple talented rural area prospects, and an exciting young wideout determined to make a name for himself at a 6A powerhouse.
Sam Lough – Basehor-Linwood, 6’4”, 265, OL, Class of ’24
In the last piece we took a look at Basehor’s potential starting quarterback for this upcoming season, and this time we’re highlighting their returning right tackle. Lough stepped up this past fall and ended the season with a 2nd Team All-UKC selection. Although his 2021 film is short, it shows plenty examples of the strength he possesses. He does a good job getting leverage on the opposition, and then proceeds to either drive them back, or puts them on their rear end. Lough already has a solid frame and will continue to fill it out, and if he can become more explosive; good luck to any edge rusher that lines up in front of him.
Donald Collier – Trinity Academy, 6’0”, 165, ATH, Class of ’24
After a solid sophmore campaign; Collier is looking to put folks on notice as a junior. The two-way prospect had success on both sides of the ball in 2021, as he took home a 2nd Team All-League selection at safety and was an All-League Honorable Mention pick at receiver. Collier primarily worked out of the slot this past season, where he was able to consistently get separation from defenders. He has quick footwork off the line and is capable of making some tough catches. An underrated aspect of Collier’s game would be his blocking. He does just enough to clear a lane and can pick up an occasional pancake. Look for Collier to be an All-State candidate this fall.

Mathew Moeder – Great Bend, 6’2”, 205, LB, Class of ’23
We mentioned at the beginning of this series how Cayden Scheuerman could be the first prospect from Great Bend to make it into the rankings. Well, he isn’t the only Panther that’s made a case to be added. Mathew Moeder is also eying a spot inside the Class of ’23 rankings. He was the Panthers’ leading tackler last season with 74 total on the year, which earned him a 4A All-State Honorable Mention nod and a 1st Team All-WAC selection. Moeder possesses the frame and physical ability to be a run stuffing backer at the next level. He isn’t the most explosive prospect, but he does display good change of direction and vision.
Caden Butler – Olathe North, 6’0”, 170, WR, Class of ’25
Olathe North has been a prominent program in the state for some time now, and they’ve been known to produce some elite-level talent over the years. Caden Butler is a promising prospect that could reach that potential one day. He doesn’t have much film from the ’21 season, but he has multiple clips of him balling out during this early portion of spring. Butler has put on a route running clinic at two out-of-state events during March. The skill set he possesses is rare for his age. His ability to get initial separation off the line and at the top of his route is impressive. He also displays great body control that forces corners to overplay. Very excited to see what this young man can do at the varsity level.

Kelby Eck – Andale, 6’0”, 160, ATH, Class of ’23
At this point it’s no surprise that Andale has another prospect from their upcoming senior class eyeing a spot in the rankings. Eck is a prime example of what makes this program so special. He may be undersized for an edge defender, but he makes winning plays. His standout year earned him a 1st Team 3A All-State selection and 1st Team All-League honors. Eck is a prospect that doesn’t take plays off and always flies to the football. His quickness off the edge gives him an advantage against offensive linemen, and his wrestling background helps him stand his ground. Eck is also dangerous on special teams as a return man.
