On the football field, there aren’t many positions throughout the game that can have such a versatile impact more than tight ends. Whether they leave their mark in the running game with demolishing blocks or threaten defenses with uncanny pass patterns, the tight end position has left its mark on football forever. More specifically in regards to Colorado, there have been plenty of tight ends who have had 303 roots that have gone on to have success at the college and even professional level. From past greats like Daniel Graham out of Thomas Jefferson to future stars such as Trey McBride who played his high school ball up the road at Fort Morgan, there is plenty of talent at the tight end position to go around in Colorful Colorado. Hey, you never know! If you look hard enough, you might find the next best Centennial State tight end right outside your backyard.

Class of 2023 (#1 TE, #17 Overall)
2021 Stats: 18 REC, 166 Yards, 9.2 AVG, 2 TD’s
Displaying exceptional skills in the blocking and passing game, Metzger is the number one tight end in the state for a reason. The big-bodied tight end is always in the right place at the right time, as his ability to get to the second level with his blocks down the field is second to no one. The three-star Red Raider prospect has untapped receiving potential with his light foot work off the line of scrimmage and swift route-running when being an option in the passing game.

Class of 2023 (#2 TE, #20 Overall)
2021 Stats: N/A
Another talented tight end hailing from Cherry Creek High School, Pell is certain to make a name for himself in 2022. Already rated as the second best TE at his position in the entire Centennial State, Pell packs a punch when blocking off the line of scrimmage. Pell has a sturdy but rock solid base that helps him fend off ferocious defenders who are eager to make a play in the backfield. The Bruins will plan to use Pell as an acting additional offensive lineman in heavy packages, and will utilize him on passing down with his rather large frame. Expect big things from the Cherry Creek product in 2022!

Another intriguing prospect within the Denver metro area, [player_tooltip player_id="22765" first="DeAndre" last="Horn"] is a raw talent who can turn into something special his senior campaign. In limited action within the passing game, Horn averaged 17.5 yards per reception, demonstrating his ability to break tackles and make plays down the field when the offense needs him the most.

TE [player_tooltip player_id="150162" first="Jadon" last="Williams"] 6’2" 225 Lutheran
Class of 2023 (#4 TE, #35 Overall)
2021 Stats: N/A
Not many teams had as successful of a year within the Denver Area and the whole state of Colorado for that matter than the Lutheran Lions. A huge part of that prosperity was in fact [player_tooltip player_id="150162" first="Jadon" last="Williams"] at the tight end position, a physically demanding prospect with soft hands and a knack for throwing out blocks in both the passing and running game. With another year under his belt, Williams will be a name to keep tabs on, as his experience entering his senior year should do wonders for the Lutheran stand out.

TE [player_tooltip player_id="246905" first="Max" last="Rodriguez"] 6’2" 200 Cherry Creek
Class of 2023 (N/A)
2021 Stats: N/A
The second Bruin to be included among this list, Cherry Creek will be fully loaded at the tight-end position in 2022. Rodriguez offers phenomenal depth to the three-time defending champion Bruins, as Creek has had their fair share of stellar tight ends walk through their doors. With the epic one-two punch of [player_tooltip player_id="22770" first="Ty" last="Pell"] and [player_tooltip player_id="246905" first="Max" last="Rodriguez"], Creek will have the ability pound the rock effectively and also set up the play action with their big-bodied hybrid receivers who can pinpoint the ball with ease and make gigantic gains all around the field. When it comes to Rodriguez, don’t be surprised if the soon-to-be senior finishes up his final year of high school ball as the best tight end in the state.
TE [player_tooltip player_id="246906" first="Brody" last="Robinson"] 6’4" 200 Grandview
Class of 2023 (#7 TE, #80 Overall)
2021 Stats: N/A
Although slightly undersized at a lanky 6’4" and weighing in at 200 pounds, Robinson displays excellent technique and will no doubt add a few pounds to perfect his game. Robinson saw limited action last season, but don’t sleep on this Grandview product’s untapped potential. Rated as the seventh best tight end in the Centennial State, Robinson has breakout flair with his natural receiving attributes. With a little seasoning in his blocking fundamentals and scheme, Robinson can be a major contributor for Grandview this fall.
TE Simon Kibbee 6’8" 230 Grandview
Class of 2023 (Ranking N/A)
2021 Stats: 13 REC, 121 Yards, 9.3 AVG, 1 TD
Cherry Creek has the talent to boast two top tight ends, but who says Grandview can’t get in on the fun? The Wolves showed in 2021 that they can hang with anyone, and having two superb offensive weapons returning to finish what they started will go a long ways in being able to put points up on the board. Possibly one of the more intriguing prospects on this list due to his shear mammoth size, Kibbee presents a matchup nightmare for defenses at the high school level. Like his partner in crime in [player_tooltip player_id="246906" first="Brody" last="Robinson"], Kibbee’s technique could use some work, but with another season of high-level ball at Colorado’s most competitive classification, many college programs may end up swooning when it is all said and done. Between his fluid route running and able to cause serious damage in the intermediate and deep levels of the defense, the sky is the limit for Kibbee!

TE [player_tooltip player_id="146073" first="Alexander" last="Jordan"] 6’4" 204 Valor Christian
Class of 2024 (Watch List Nominee)
2021 Stats: N/A
The lone wolf within the class of 2024 when it comes to the tight end position, it is only fitting that a top program like Valor Christian possesses a player like [player_tooltip player_id="146073" first="Alexander" last="Jordan"]. Another tight end that would benefit putting on at least 20 pounds from now until the 2022 season, it is wild to think that Jordan is only a junior in high school. Fast forward two years from now and Jordan no question has the intangibles that can translate to the next level. It has yet to be seen just how effective the Eagles tight end can be since Jordan was mostly a second-string player on defense in 2021, but the translation to the opposite side of the ball shouldn’t be a difficult one for the large-framed athletic specimen out of Highlands Ranch.
