These five standouts have a wide range of skillsets. From under the radar raw football prospects, to prospects you will probably see playing Power Five football in the coming years! I give you Part Two of our notes of key standouts from Border Battle 7on7 in Minneapolis!
Ryan Wirtzfeld | QB | Winnipeg, Manitoba | Recruit Ready | 2025
Ryan showed really sound mechanics for his age at the quarterback position last Thursday night. Not only were his mechanics sound, there was a lot to like about how he released the football with the speed of his throwing motion plus his strong ball placement with the finish of his throws. What was more intriguing about Ryan? I found out he just reclassified to the Class of 2025 so should technically only be entering high school. This young man has a very high ceiling as far as his potential, and has to be one of the best Quarterbacks in his class in all of Canada.
Tyler Nystrom Tyler Nystrom 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Mounds View | 2024 State MN | WR | Mounds View, Minnesota | Potenza Sports | 2024
I typically frown upon writing about the same kid in the same week on PRZ, but when you ball out like Tyler Nystrom Tyler Nystrom 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Mounds View | 2024 State MN did yet again at Border Battle 7on7 last Thursday, you will always get recognition because you are proving you are a darn great football player to college coaches at the next level. I enjoyed yet again the tremendous footwork and upfront balance this kid showed around the sidelines on Thursday night at the U of M. Tyler’s hands are exceptional and are like glue that can catch any ball that is in his wheelhouse. As one of his coaches says, “he’s been a problem since 8th grade,” which checks the boxes from what I have seen over the last couple years from Tyler.
Sam Opanubi | LB | Winnipeg, Manitoba | Recruit Ready | 2026
It was very hard for me to believe that Sam is just in the 8th grade based on what I watched on Thursday night. This kid showed off some frightful physicality from the reps I watched on Thursday from the 15U team from Recruit Ready. He did an excellent job in pass coverage and was pressing to his wide receiver like glue during the reps I watched. Sam already stands at 6’2, and I have heard he might get even bigger by the time he enters high school, which is going to be scary for wherever he ends up playing in high school.
Sawyer Sanders | TE | Osseo, Minnesota | Minnesota Elite Seven | 2024
From the limited reps I watched from Sawyer, I came away impressed with this kid’s finesse at the tight end position, as he made quick adjustments on the fly to adjust what the defense was giving him which shows well for his age. Based on the film I saw from a recent high school season, Sawyer is a wrecking ball that you do not want to have to tackle as on various reps it takes multiple defenders to bring him to the turf. Sawyer also maintains steady hands when he forced to run block and provides assures with his quick hand motions. Sawyer shows a prospect that is relatively under the radar and needs more tape from 2021 to rise his stock from his 2020 season he showed us on tape.
Dillano Glaud | SS | Winnipeg, Canada | Recruit Ready | 2024
Golly, I could not get over how rangy Dillano Glaud was last Thursday night at the University of Minnesota. This young man casted a huge net and with his 6’3 200 pound size and really brought a heck of a stretch with his wingspan when going up to get the football. I got to watch Dillano’s hip rotation on film and it’s no wonder SEC programs are looking at this young man, as he unlocks his hips so soundly when he seems an ample opportunity to make a play. His back pedal is also very sound from what I watched last week. No offers yet, but my gut is telling me this kids recruiting is going to take off by summertime or before once he hits the camp circuit at some Division I schools.
