The 7-on-7 circuit has started to heat up over the past few weeks. The Arkansas Elite 100 7-on-7 team had strong performances from numerous different players on day two. We are going to take a look at some prospects that had strong day two performance and look at who had a strong tournament period. The state of Arkansas had numerous prospects lighting up the competition in New Orleans over the weekend.
[player_tooltip player_id="155329" first="Bryce" last="Perkins"]-Quarterback-Van Buren-2024
We had the opportunity to discover how athletic and versatile Perkins is in New Orleans. The Van Buren quarterback saw playing time at multiple positions. Perkins excelled at the positions he was aligned. From the quarterback spot he displayed good arm strength and was hitting his wide receivers. Perkins is an impressive prospect that displays the mobility needed to play any position on the field. The Van Buren quarterback is off to a strong start in the offseason, and I look for it to continue.
[player_tooltip player_id="301196" first="Karter" last="Ratliff"]-Wide Receiver-Bryant-2025
The more film I see of [player_tooltip player_id="301196" first="Karter" last="Ratliff"] the more impressed I become with the Bryant wide receiver. He is a red zone threat that does a great job of using his leaping ability to high point the football. Ratliff’s 6’5” frame has been giving defensive backs plenty of headaches in the 7-on-7 circuit and has the potential to do the same thing on Friday nights. The Bryant receiving corps has the potential to be a force to be reckoned with as fall starts to approach.
[player_tooltip player_id="75137" first="Jabrae" last="Shaw"]-Athlete-Little Rock Mills-2023
The versatility that [player_tooltip player_id="75137" first="Jabrae" last="Shaw"] has is extremely impressive. Shaw on the offensive side of the ball is a dangerous player to attempt to cover. He has terrific speed and is able to use his route running to create separation from opposing defensive backs. The trait that does not get discussed enough regarding Shaw is just how good his hands are. He will either pick off the pass on the defensive side or haul in the reception on the offensive side of the ball. Shaw is a prospect to watch in 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="221273" first="Jordan" last="Walker"]-Quarterback-Bryant-2025
[player_tooltip player_id="221273" first="Jordan" last="Walker"] is having a terrific 7-on-7 circuit. He looks extremely comfortable throwing the football and he is fitting the ball into some incredibly tight windows. Walker has displayed good zip on the ball and has a knack for finding the open wide receiver. He is a quarterback to watch out for over the next few years. Walker is a prospect that I expect to light some teams for the Hornets over the next couple of seasons.
[player_tooltip player_id="275515" first="Aydan" last="Easter"]-Defensive Back-Lake Hamilton-2023
Over the past few weeks [player_tooltip player_id="275515" first="Aydan" last="Easter"], has let his play do the talking on the field. Easter is causing opposing wide receivers plenty of headaches in 7-on-7 play. He has good instincts, and it feels like he knows the routes better than the opposing wide receivers. Easter has the speed to stick with opposing wide outs and he uses his aggressiveness well to make plays on the football. Easter is setting the stage for a strong season with the Lake Hamilton Wolves and is a prospect that scouts should keep an eye on this season.
