While numbers, including that of receiving yards, and TD’s are very important, the projection of the prospect’s talent, as well as their growth potential is very fun to evaluate. Different programs tend to start players young due to their thin roster, and other programs tend to be loaded with talent, including younger players who are more prepared to start at earlier ages. Specifically, for this 2025 class, when taking a look at plenty of factors, and players, we have come to the conclusion that we see plenty of potential in the young WR’s below, and would love to see how they play this next season.
Zeke Whittington- Habersham Central
Even though it is very early in his high school career, it is easy to tell that Zeke may be one of the better receivers to come out of Georgia in his class. Not only is he a great route runner, but he has incredible footwork, and an ability to change direction on the dime. He high points the ball well when it is in the air, and catches the ball cleanly. He plays a very shifty, and twitchy style of football, which makes him very fun to watch, especially as he carves up defenders with his routes. His stick move is also ferocious for his age, and we love the way that he separates well from defenders, regardless of the route that he runs. With this, especially due to his body control and balance, we expect him to have a great year next season, only helping him to get his name out there to colleges even more.
Edward Coleman- Calvary Day
By the time it is all said and done, Coleman will likely be one of the top receivers in his class within the state of Georgia. Last season, he accumulated over 500 yards, while also catching 6 TD’s. Coleman plays with an incredible balance, and has the burst, and explosive ability that you would like to see out of a player his age. He has already proven to stack receivers well, and to use his feet to his advantage, creating leverage on routes. He also does a great job of catching the football with clean, and strong hands, making it to where it is hard to defeat him in contested situations. Moving into next year, expect his stock to rise, especially as he develops as a route runner, and continues to add to his already mature frame.
Isaiah Mitchell- Peach County
Last season, Mitchell began to make a name for himself across the state of Georgia as one of the better up and coming receivers in his class. He not only put up 7 TD’s, but he also totaled around 545 yards during his freshman year. When playing the WR position, he proves that he has the ability to make plays after the catch, run decent routes, and have the ability to attack the ball in the air. Mitchell also does a great job of using his feet to help him beat defenders, even when he is in man coverage. While he has a lot to learn, we feel he is already ahead of a lot of players his age. Next season, expect him to start to get the attention he deserves.
Jabari Jones- Westlake
When watching the tape on Jabari Jones, there is no doubt that he is going to be a great ball player for Westlake. As a young cat, he showed that his speed, burst, and illusiveness are already enough to set him apart from most players his age. His footwork, twitch, and burst allow him to gain good yards on defenders, and his hands have already proven to be great at the point of catch. Jones is great at catching the ball at its highest point, and attacking it in the air as well. His overall balance, and body control make him an asset for his team, and we have no doubt that he will continue to be molded into a top talent within the state by the end of next season. Recently, he has made an impact on the jet sweep, and on intermediate routes. Going into next year, we would love to see him develop as a route runner, further solidifying his talent.
Jarrett Brown- Harvester Christian
It may be a bit difficult to find any tape on Jarrett Brown, but he was easily one of the more efficient, and impactful WR’s out of his class last season. As a young player, he already saw some playing time, and racked up over 410 yards within a 10 game span. This meant that he averaged around 41 yards a game. Overall, Brown is a very dynamic player with the ball in his hands, and he does a good job of making plays after the catch. This includes utilizing his burst, speed, and shiftiness to work his way past defenders to make plays. This can be seen in the 5 TD’s that he accumulated last season. While Brown is a pure talent, we feel that he could improve in how raw he is as a player at times, as well as his movement skills. If he can manage to improve in these areas, he will certainly see his stock rise in the coming years.
