On Friday, we looked at some of the rising offensive prospects in the Class of 2023. Today, the journey continues with five more ascending student-athletes.

[player_tooltip player_id="185519" first="Dane" last="Gerling"] is the heart-and-soul of Covington’s offense. Gerling can be a playmaker both on the ground and through the air, on offense and on defense. Last year, Gerling carried the ball 23 times for 115 yards and half-a-dozen touchdowns. At wide receiver, Gerling was a go-to target. He brought in 52 receptions for 776 yards and 14 touchdowns. Defensively, Gerling is a tackling machine. He recorded 55 total and 98 solo tackles with one tackle-for-loss. He also added a sack, one pass defense and a duo of interceptions.
[player_tooltip player_id="185172" first="Eli" last="Hinshaw"], 6’1, 200 pounds, Tight End, Owen Valley
[player_tooltip player_id="185172" first="Eli" last="Hinshaw"] can be effective at both tight end and defensive end. Hinshaw had three carries for 23 yards. In the passing-game, Hinshaw demonstrated that he can be a viable option. In 2021, he recorded 10 receptions for 86 yards. Defensively, he displayed that he can be a difference-maker off the edge. He posted 62 tackles with 14 solo tackles and six tackles-for-loss. Hinshaw turned in an impressive tally of five-and-a-half sacks. Look for [player_tooltip player_id="185172" first="Eli" last="Hinshaw"] to take a big step forward this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="185211" first="Jayden" last="Hill"], 6’0, 210 pounds, Tight End, Bishop Luers
[player_tooltip player_id="185211" first="Jayden" last="Hill"] can succeed when lined up on the line and split-out wide, making him a versatile prospect who benefits the offense considerably. Hill has reliable hands and a good catch radius. He can reel in throws that are not right on the numbers. He also demonstrates good playmaking ability after the catch. Before the throw, Hill is good at finding the windows to get open. Crucially, Hill can help create opportunities for the rest of the offense with his blocking ability. [player_tooltip player_id="185211" first="Jayden" last="Hill"] is set for a big senior season.
[player_tooltip player_id="185163" first="Aiden" last="Duerig"], 6’5, 300 pounds, Offensive Lineman, Crown Point
[player_tooltip player_id="185163" first="Aiden" last="Duerig"] is the reliable left tackle that a right-handed quarterback needs. Duerig is physical, and he excels at picking up blitzes. He does an outstanding job of recognizing the blitz and reacting accordingly. Duerig displays good hand placement during his blocks. [player_tooltip player_id="185163" first="Aiden" last="Duerig"] can help solidify the offensive line. Expect him to wipe out pass rushes next season.
[player_tooltip player_id="185165" first="Brody" last="Bolyn"], 6’3, 220 pounds Offensive Lineman, Norwell
[player_tooltip player_id="185165" first="Brody" last="Bolyn"] is a stalwart right guard for Norwell. Bolyn is a physically strong prospect who can get up to the second level. He shows good mobility, helping him on kick out blocks. On top of what he brings to the offense, Bolyn can also contribute as a defensive lineman. [player_tooltip player_id="185165" first="Brody" last="Bolyn"] is a prospect to watch, as he can be a force on both sides of the line.
