On the defensive side of the ball, their are a lot of talented underdogs in San Antonio, Texas. They are fast, hard hitting, and persistent on their hustle on being a game changer! These kids are looking for a place to call home at the next level and are looking for each opportunity to shine. Here are the top 5 defensive sleeper players for this upcoming fall 2022 football season! 1. Braeden Flowers- 6’4 254Ibs/ TE,DE,OLB- Central Catholic High School                                                            Analysis: Braden Flowers possesses great height and a solid 254Ibs frame! With a 4.7 40 yard dash time, he is extremely  athletic and versatile for his size. While playing the tight end position, he has good and soft hands which makes him an asset as a weapon on offense. He is a very good route runner and can get open anytime! When he is on defense, he is a very physical defensive end with long arms which allows him to shed blocks quicker and knock down passes at the line. Be on the look out for him this upcoming season! 2. [player_tooltip player_id="259531" first="Gavin" last="Woods"]- 6’2.5 210Ibs/ DE,ATH- Smithson Valley High School                                                                               Analysis: [player_tooltip player_id="259531" first="Gavin" last="Woods"] is a force to be reckoned with on the defensive side of the ball. He is a very good pass rusher with good closing speed and is quick off of the ball! He is a physical tackler that hustles until the end of the whistle on each and every play. Mr. woods also uses his hands effectively when being a run stopper or pass rusher which makes him a dangerous weapon on the defensive side of the ball. Look for him to put up some big numbers this season! 3. Noah Sommer- 6/2 205Ibs/ LB- Central Catholic High School                                                                                        Analysis: Noah Sommer is a monster on defense! He is a very hard hitter which is very important at the linebacker position while being great at tracking down the QB on pass plays. This young man possesses good size and strength for his stature while being a good tackler in the open field and in the gaps. Last year was his first year playing the linebacker position and he put up decent numbers. Also, he was a force on special teams last year with great blocks and tackles. He is sure to have a prime senior season this year! 4. [player_tooltip player_id="136143" first="Thomas" last="Colligan"]- 6’3 230Ibs/ DE- Alamo Heights High School.                                                                                      Analysis: The All- State defensive end, [player_tooltip player_id="136143" first="Thomas" last="Colligan"], is another under the radar prospect to keep an eye out on on the defensive side of the ball. He recorded a school record 18 sacks, 12 tackles for loss , and 55 tackles total last season. He plays aggressive and is physical off of the snap. He has a solid frame and has decent height at the defensive end position. He is excellent at shedding blocks and rushing the quarterback while being very quick after the snap which makes him a huge threat for opponents. Scouts and coaches, keep your eye on this kid, he is someone that will turn the heads of collegiate coaches this year in the fall of the 2022 football season. 5. Caleb Harrison- 5’9 195Ibs/ OLB/SS/ATH Central Catholic High School                                                                        Analysis: Talk about a force turnover machine! Caleb Harrison led TAAPS in forced turnovers all last season. He is a playmaker on defense, causing opponents to cough up the ball almost each and every time he tackles or rushes them! You can play him at multiple positions on defense, even in the secondary. While having great closing speed, Caleb makes sure that he causes major damage on defense, Even though he is undersized as a linebacker, he plays extremely physical which coaches at the next level will love about him! Keep a watch out on Caleb Harrison for the upcoming football season in the fall of 2022!
