The 2023 class of wide receivers has a wide array of skillsets. Each individual player has skills that help them win in a variety of ways. From winning in contested catch situations to creating consistent separation with precise route running. Whatever flavor of wide receiver you prefer there is an athlete for you in this class. Here are just a couple of wide receiver superlatives for the 2023 class.
Best Route Runner: [player_tooltip player_id="154114" first="Omaree" last="Walker"], Don Bosco
At 5’11 170lbs [player_tooltip player_id="154114" first="Omaree" last="Walker"] is the best separator in this class. He has the dangerous combination of speed and suddenness:

Coupled with the manipulation of his tempo he can drop his hips in the blink of an eye to snap off routes. Showing solid hip fluidity to get in and out of his breaks efficiently:

Variety is the last component, his tape is filled with double moves, and he shows the same consistency with suddenness on two breaks as he does with one. He has one of the smoothest slant and go’s from a high school prospect. And has a variety of techniques he uses to keep defensive backs guessing and create consistent separation:

Best Hands: [player_tooltip player_id="183641" first="Najih" last="Rahman"], Red Bank Catholic
At 5’11 195 Rahman is one of the cleanest wide receiver prospects in this class. He has no major weakness in his game, but the most impressive aspect is his ability to catch in traffic and his ability to make tough off frame catches:

Blessed with a 74’ wingspan and a natural hands catcher you often see him pluck the ball out of the air and attack the football. He also has the smarts to know when to protect the ball and catch with his body to complete catches in traffic using his sturdy 195lb frame to catch thru contact:

[player_tooltip player_id="183641" first="Najih" last="Rahman"] is a complete wide receiver who can consistently be counted on in the clutch, to make plays, specifically, the tough catches when it matters. He currently has offers from Monmouth and Brown University.

Most Explosive: [player_tooltip player_id="146667" first="Ejani" last="Shakir"], Pennsauken
[player_tooltip player_id="146667" first="Ejani" last="Shakir"] is another clean prospect in this class. The most explosive out of all the wide receivers, when the ball is in his hands no matter where he is on the field, there is a threat for it to be taken to the house.

Physically, he has all the gifts to win in any situation. There isn’t a play that he can’t make as a wide receiver. He may not be as nuanced as his wide receiver contemporaries, but what he lacks in detail he makes up for with pure athleticism. There is no wide receiver in this class who brings as much explosiveness to the table as Shakir does.
Currently, he has offers from: Duke, Florida State, Miami, NC State, Penn State, West Virginia, Rutgers, Nebraska, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Temple, Maryland, South Carolina, Boston College and Ole Miss

Most Upside: [player_tooltip player_id="215509" first="Aldrich" last="Doe"], Oakcrest
[player_tooltip player_id="215509" first="Aldrich" last="Doe"] receives the upside tag because if he ever committed to being a plus route runner, he would be a nightmare to deal with in any situation. Standing at a legit 6’3 180, bigger receivers are usually labeled as more of contested catch guys, than they are guys who can move in and out of routes. Doe can do both. Where its tough is that he flashes the high-end route running, but it’s not as consistent as other receivers in his class. His junior season was cut short due to a knee injury, here’s to hoping he comes back strong, and as a better route runner.

Best After The Catch: [player_tooltip player_id="146668" first="Famah" last="Toure"], Irvington
At 6’4 200lbs you wouldn’t think that a receiver that size would be the best after the catch, but with the way, he’s utilized in Irvington’s offense he has plenty of tape to make that case.
He wins this designation because he wins after the catch in multiple ways. He can beat you with speed or shiftiness and he can beat with good contact balance, showing the physicality to lower his shoulder to go through defensive players to gain yards above expectation.
[player_tooltip player_id="146668" first="Famah" last="Toure"] is a physical specimen at that position and will have a senior year to remember. He currently has offers from Maryland, Kentucky, Kent State, Duke, and Boston College.

Best In Contested Catch Situations: [player_tooltip player_id="187876" first="Zion" last="Fowler"], St. Peter’s Prep
PrepRedzone’s number one ranked player [player_tooltip player_id="187876" first="Zion" last="Fowler"] can win in every way. Where he excels is, in contested catch situations. He has uncanny leaping ability and body control that allows him to sky over defensive backs to meet that ball at its apex. He has the best blend of technicality and athleticism of any wide receiver in this class.
He’s currently committed to play at Pitt
