The 2023 class is rich with talent at almost every position. One of the deepest positions is the defensive backs. Offering everything from ball-hawking safeties to man coverage slot cornerbacks. The talent level of the defensive backs in this class is strong. These defensive backs all have specific skill sets and traits that make them exceptional at what they do. Here are some defensive back superlatives to help us understand which defensive backs excel at which skillsets and dominant traits they possess. &nbsp; <strong>Best Technique: [player_tooltip player_id="290980" first="George" last="Inge II"], Camden Catholic </strong> If your looking for a cornerback who is rarely out of position looking no further than [player_tooltip player_id="290980" first="George" last="Inge II"].  An athlete who consistently, hones his craft and efficiently executes in-game is the reason he is PrepRedzone’s number one cornerback. Coupled with a relentless work  ethic he also has the smarts and instincts to execute many different coverage concepts: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">Class of 2023 1st Team All Conference 6’1 180 Pounds CB/Nickel 4.5 40 time</p> Press Bail Technique Camden Catholic High New Jersey<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/art?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#art</a> <a href="https://t.co/d0i8zARUo8">pic.twitter.com/d0i8zARUo8</a> — [player_tooltip player_id="290980" first="George" last="Inge II"] (@GeorgeInge8) <a href="https://twitter.com/GeorgeInge8/status/1487082838851735559?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 28, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> &nbsp; <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">Class of 2023 1st Team All Conference 6’1 180 Pounds CB 4.5 40 time</p> Inside leverage Read 3 step Once in phase Shoot the hip Camden Catholic High New Jersey <a href="https://t.co/8QYMyZgcFd">pic.twitter.com/8QYMyZgcFd</a> — [player_tooltip player_id="290980" first="George" last="Inge II"] (@GeorgeInge8) <a href="https://twitter.com/GeorgeInge8/status/1483902805328994307?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 19, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Not only does the film back it up but has the ability to articulate the coverage techniques he’s playing. Mastering the mental side of playing defensive back is one of the more underrated aspects of playing the position, especially, at the high school level. Producing over 10+  pass breakups this past year he should be even more potent in his senior year. <strong>Most Upside: [player_tooltip player_id="270989" first="Joey" last="Lis"], Ramsey</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="270989" first="Joey" last="Lis"] is one of the rawest prospects in this class. He makes a ton of plays, off-shear athleticism. With no real technicality to his game, YET. At 6’1 175 with solid arm length, and good speed, he showed he can make many plays on the ball, in man coverage, and in zone. Once Lis adds some technicality to his game he can be a solid division one cornerback prospect. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">Ethan Silcher’s pass is intercepted by [player_tooltip player_id="270989" first="Joey" last="Lis"]. Ramsey take over at their own 25-yard line. Same score, 7:51 remains in the game. <a href="https://t.co/7M8yvnlXaL">pic.twitter.com/7M8yvnlXaL</a></p> — PV Student Publication Sports (@pvsportscenter) <a href="https://twitter.com/pvsportscenter/status/1454247584449576963?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 30, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <strong>Most Physically Gifted: [player_tooltip player_id="301140" first="Saboor" last="Karriem"], West Orange</strong> Standing at 6’3 180 lbs with a freakish wingspan. Saboor Kareem is everything Power 5 and NFL teams want their cornerbacks to look like. He has great speed, also stands out as a wide receiver. With these skills, he can take his pick at which position he wants to play. He is a smooth mover, who is explosive, fast, agile, and insert whatever physical attribute you wish, this young man has it. He has a nose for the football and has a lot of ball production in the form of interceptions and pass breakups. There is no system or technique that this young man cant execute. He makes most plays with instincts and athleticism. Once his technique gets more refined we may be looking at an NFL-caliber cornerback. With offers from  Maryland, Boston College, Syracuse, Virginia Tech amongst others. He will have the big stage to show off his talents. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">Great Junior Season! Check out my highlight tape!<a href="https://t.co/RE3rs0b3Yw">https://t.co/RE3rs0b3Yw</a></p> — Saboor “Prime Time” Karriem (@Saboor_Karriem) <a href="https://twitter.com/Saboor_Karriem/status/1460648871017725959?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 16, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <strong>Best Slot Cornerback: [player_tooltip player_id="146701" first="Ryan" last="Adams"], St. Peter’s Prep</strong> This is a heavy prognostication due to the fact that Adams currently plays safety, but he has all the makings of a solid slot cornerback. The ability to make tackles in open space, quick in and out of his transitions, has good ball skills, good hips, and good instincts. Adams is one the most instinctive cornerbacks in this class and will be a terror to catch passes against when lined up in the slot. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">[player_tooltip player_id="146701" first="Ryan" last="Adams"] ( <a href="https://twitter.com/Ryan3Adams?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Ryan3Adams</a> ) CB Class of ‘23 5’10 170lbs GPA 3.7 Junior Season Highlight<a href="https://twitter.com/SFCFootballNJ?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@SFCFootballNJ</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/SPPFootball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@SPPFootball</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/coachnazoliver?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@coachnazoliver</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/BrianDohn247?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@BrianDohn247</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/ShawnB_247?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@ShawnB_247</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/EdOBrienCFB?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@EdOBrienCFB</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/RivalsFriedman?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@RivalsFriedman</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/rivals_singer?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Rivals_Singer</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/ryanwpatti?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@ryanwpatti</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/Coach_GetWright?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Coach_GetWright</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/_GridironAccess?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@_GridironAccess</a> <a href="https://t.co/g3SevQwgpk">pic.twitter.com/g3SevQwgpk</a></p> — Furmel Thompson (@Furmelthompson_) <a href="https://twitter.com/Furmelthompson_/status/1480218532877152257?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 9, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">Sunday Service Work! <a href="https://twitter.com/Coach_GetWright?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Coach_GetWright</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/Myles_Harts?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Myles_Harts</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/EdOBrienCFB?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@EdOBrienCFB</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/SPPFootball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@SPPFootball</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/CoachRichHansen?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@CoachRichHansen</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/coachnazoliver?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@coachnazoliver</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/BrianDohn247?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@BrianDohn247</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/ShawnB_247?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@ShawnB_247</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/RivalsFriedman?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@RivalsFriedman</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/rivals_singer?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Rivals_Singer</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/ryanwpatti?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@ryanwpatti</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/_GridironAccess?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@_GridironAccess</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/Coach_Elby?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Coach_Elby</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/KeepItABuckPod1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@KeepItABuckPod1</a> <a href="https://t.co/T22GkwZvac">pic.twitter.com/T22GkwZvac</a></p> — [player_tooltip player_id="146701" first="Ryan" last="Adams"] (@Ryan3Adams) <a href="https://twitter.com/Ryan3Adams/status/1503105278539141122?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 13, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <strong>Best In Man Coverage: [player_tooltip player_id="291052" first="Omar" last="Ibrahim"], Union</strong> The self-proclaimed number one cornerback in New Jersey earns the best in man coverage superlative. At 6’2 175 with long arms, he adds uncanny physical gifts. With the ability to be a smooth mover with solid footspeed. He is a bear to deal with at the catch point and has the great leaping ability to create interceptions  exemplified on this play: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="und">🏝 <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/doughboyz?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#doughboyz</a> <a href="https://t.co/z6EFS0IpTJ">pic.twitter.com/z6EFS0IpTJ</a></p> — [player_tooltip player_id="291052" first="Omar" last="Ibrahim"] (@OmarIbrahim05) <a href="https://twitter.com/OmarIbrahim05/status/1453069331710070794?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 26, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> &nbsp; <strong>Best In Zone Coverage/ Best Defensive Back: [player_tooltip player_id="301154" first="Jayden" last="Bonsu"], St Peter’s Prep </strong> This is an athlete who has the total package at defensive back. Size, movement skills, and instincts. He earns two designations best in zone coverage, and best overall defensive back. He earns the best zone defender superlative for his playmaking ability. He shows the ability to not only carry routes through zones but peel off on certain routes to make plays on the ball for interceptions. He brings a valuable skillset to the table by being able to cover effectively in zone and make plays at or around the line of scrimmage. With offers from Alabama,  LSU, and Georgia there is a very real possibility that we could see him making plays on some of the biggest stages in college football. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en"><a href="https://t.co/v3IryIfKAt">https://t.co/v3IryIfKAt</a> Grateful to have a healthy and productive Jr. year , here is my full season highlights ! 🏴‍☠️ <a href="https://twitter.com/coachnazoliver?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@coachnazoliver</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/SPPFootball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@SPPFootball</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/CoachRichHansen?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@CoachRichHansen</a></p> — [player_tooltip player_id="301154" first="Jayden" last="Bonsu"] 🃏 (@JaydenBonsu) <a href="https://twitter.com/JaydenBonsu/status/1463146789603848194?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 23, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
