The Class of 2023 is fully stocked with talented and skilled quarterbacks. It is so stacked it is difficult just to rank the quarterbacks, because they are so close to talent, skill, and their previous season performances it is nearly impossible to put them above one another. This is not often said, but these rankings could easily look different after next season as each of these quarterbacks could be the No. 1 player.
1. [player_tooltip player_id="121947" first="Mason" last="Shorb"] - Rouse High School (Leander, TX)
2021 Season: 3,813 passing yards, 49 passing touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 4 rushing touchdowns
Arguably one of the best performances for a quarterback in Texas, Shorb had one of the best seasons a quarterback could have. He was accurate, had a heck of an arm, made smart decisions, and had excellent awareness of the field. He rarely made mistakes and had great chemistry with his receivers. Shorb would not let any opportunity go to waste, maximizing on every play. Shorb has a lot of potential for his senior season, which should be fun to watch.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="121942" first="Austin" last="Novosad"] - Dripping Springs High School (Dripping Springs, TX)
2021 Season: 3,399 passing yards, 40 passing touchdowns, 9 interceptions
Much like Shorb, Novosad had an incredible season as well. Novosad has all of the traits of an elite quarterback, and if anything, both he and Shorb are neck and neck. For most of the season, the two were fighting for leading passing yards. Novosad will be dangerous in his senior year. Given how much each threw the ball, any teams facing Rouse or Dripping Springs will have to prepare for an all-out air attack. It seems both he and Shorb will continue to battle it out to be the best in Central Texas.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="247217" first="Brayden" last="Buchanan"] - Vandegrift High School (Austin, TX)
2021 Season: 3,017 passing yards, 42 passing touchdowns, 8 interceptions, 7 rushing touchdowns
Buchanan is also not far behind Shorb and Novosad. Buchanan has a fantastic arm and can sling the ball downfield no problem. He has tremendous accuracy that can deliver balls into tough spots such as the corner of the endzone. This also includes throwing the ball into tight coverage, but still having the accuracy to deliver it to the receiver. What sets Buchanan apart is the number of rushing touchdowns. He is not afraid to put his shoulders down and run in the ball as well.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="121941" first="Bo" last="Edmundson"] - Lake Travis High School (Austin, TX)
2021 Season: 3,239 passing yards, 38 passing touchdowns, 9 interceptions
Edmundson has been on the radars of many for quite a long time and for good reason. He is accurate, makes few mistakes, and has a great arm himself. He is also calm and collected in the pocket, and has complete trust in his offensive line and his receivers. Edmundson has so much potential for his senior season, and while Shorb and Novosad have the limelight, Edmundson could easily sneak in and outplay both of them next year. He surely has the talent and skill to do so.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="247219" first="Jesse" last="Medina"] - Johnson High School (Buda, TX)
2021 Season: 2,544 passing yards, 27 passing touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 11 rushing touchdowns
Talking about dark horses, Medina is another quarterback that can not only sling it but run it too. He was simply all over the field last season which created issues for opposing defenses. He is accurate, fast, focused, calm, and has a lot of power in his arm. Medina is arguably one of the most exciting to watch from the Class of 2023.
