Saturday, Cleveland quarterback/wide receiver Evan Wysong Evan Wysong 5'10" | 165 lbs | QB Cleveland | 2023 State NM was in Los Angeles, CA for the Rivals Combine. He ran the 40 in 4.59 seconds, according to a twitter post.
Last week, Wysong was invited by Big Sky program Montana to attend one of their camps in June. New Mexico has already offered.
Wysong was a triple threat for Cleveland in 2021, helping the undefeated Storm secure the Class 6A football championship by throwing for 1,787 yards and 19 TD and rushing for 987 yards and 15 TD. He also caught 3 passes for 63 yards and 1 TD. He was named the 2021 MaxPreps Player of the Year for New Mexico.
Wysong is one of the fastest players in the state and will be a strong contender for Prep Redzone New Mexico’s ‘King of Speed’ award in June.
Cibola QB Aden Chavez Aden Chavez 6'5" | 210 lbs | QB Cibola | 2023 State NM , our No. 1 prospect in the 2023 rankings, is quickly becoming a national recruit. This week, he was invited to participate in the Blue-Grey All American Bowl Combine and Arkansas, a member of the powerful SEC invited Chavez to attend its Prospect Day on March 12 in Fayetteville, AR.
However, the Razorbacks aren’t the lone Power 5 school expressing interest in Chavez. Washington State of the Pac-12 has invited Chavez to camp on the Palouse.
Harvard, one of the top academic universities in the world, has invited Chavez to attend a one-camp in June or July and tour the campus. Several other Ivy League schools have expressed interest, including Columbia, Dartmouth, Princeton and Yale.
In May, Chavez will compete at the Elite 11 Regional in Nashville and tour the Vanderbilt (another SEC member) campus.
La Cueva QB Aidan Armenta Aidan Armenta 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB La Cueva | 2023 State NM has likewise been invited to the Blue-Grey All-American Game Combine, as well as the QB challenge at the Southwest Regional Showcase in Houston on April 9-10.
Armenta, who threw for nearly 2,700 yards and 28 TD and helped La Cueva reach the semifinals of the Class 6A playoffs, will also compete at one of the Elite 11 Regionals. FCS Northern Colorado of the Big Sky Conference has expressed interest.
Armenta was the District 6A-2 Offensive Player of the Year and will lead a high powered La Cueva offensive attack in 2022 that includes RB Gabriel Buie Gabriel Buie 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB La Cueva | 2023 State NM and dynamic WR Exodus Ayers Exodus Ayers 6'2" | 175 lbs | ATH Proctor Academy | 2024 State New E , who has already been offered by New Mexico.
