A couple of days ago we told you the top 10 prospects in New Mexico (based on our latest 2022 rankings) who have yet to commit or sign to play college football. Today, we tell you about 10 more 2022 prospects that we strongly believe have earned an opportunity (and have expressed the interest) to compete at the next level. Players listed in alphabetical order:
Richard Arreola, Roswell: Roswell turned its 2021 season around (0-4 start to district championship) because Arreola and other players turned up the volume in the second half of the season. He played several positions, including quarterback, running back, wide receiver and defensive back. Arreola wants to play college football but has no offers yet.

Adan Chavez, Santa Fe: Also an outstanding wrestler and track athlete, Chavez was an integral part of the Demons in 2021 as SFHA registered the school’s first winning record in 23 years. Chavez holds 8 offers, including Minnesota-Morris, Carthage College, Bethany College and Clarke University. No decision yet, though.

[player_tooltip player_id="264995" first="Seth" last="Chavez"], Centennial: Chavez was one of the top tight ends in the state this past season as he earned First-Team All-State honors, but the offers have been slow in coming. He has good size (6-0, 210) and can play tight end, slot back or H-Back. Bethany College offered in October. However, Chavez appears headed to NMMI.

[player_tooltip player_id="134985" first="Tayten" last="Hilliard"], Lovington: Hilliard was one of the top two-way players in Class 4A last season, catching 36 passes for 631 yards and 9 TD on offense and totaling over 100 tackle son defense. But like several of his Lovington teammates, he’s focuse don basketball right now. Western New Mexico has offered.

[player_tooltip player_id="265027" first="Izaiyah" last="John"], Volcano Vista: A year ago we predicted 2021 would be the ‘Year of the Offensive Lineman” in New Mexico. In recruiting, that’s how it has played out with about 10 OL signing LOIs, including 6 with WNMU. John has the size (6-4, 290) and skills to play at the next level. He has offers from New Mexico Highlands, Gustavus, Fort Lewis and Southwestern Oklahoma State.

[player_tooltip player_id="26267" first="Ian" last="Lopez"], Centennial: Lopez was one of the most dynamic players in the state last season, leading Centennial to the district championship and a top four seed in the Class 6A playoffs. He has been quiet on the recruiting front but holds offers from New Mexico Highlands and Midway University in Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id="134963" first="Nathan" last="Lopez"], Cibola: Let’s face it. If Lopez, dubbed ‘The People’s Champion,’ was 6-feet tall rather than 5-foot-6, he would at minimum have his choice of Division II offers. But lack of size didn’t prevent Lopez from becoming the state’s No. 1 WR this past season in terms of receptions (88 for 1,216 yards) by a wide margin. He plays much bigger than his size. He has offers from Bethany College and Hastings College.

[player_tooltip player_id="135136" first="Tristen" last="Ludi-Herrera"], Bernalillo: Another dynamic playmaker who deserves more love on the recruiting trail. Ludi-Herrera caught 51 passes for Bernalillo this past season and amassed nearly 1,700 all-purpose yards. Defensively, he made 146 tackles, one of the highest totals in the state. Yet, as of right now, he holds just one offer – New Mexico Highlands.

[player_tooltip player_id="135128" first="Jacob" last="Miranda"], Sandia: Although limited by injuries, Miranda helped Sandia reach the Class 6A playoffs. He holds offers from St. Ambrose, Concordia University Nebraska, Crown College and Albright College. He recently visited Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee.

[player_tooltip player_id="134903" first="Joey" last="Reza"], Deming: Reza is one of the most underrated running backs in the state, amassing 1,400 rushing yards and 22 TD in 2021. Coaches apparently love his film as he holds offers from Western New Mexico, New Mexico Highlands, Pacific (Ore.) University, Midway University and McPherson College.
