Continue ReadingSky’s The Limit QB/WR Camps are routinely one of the best camps in the country to get eyes on some the top high school football talent coming out of the State of Texas. Former BYU Cougar and Tampa Bay Buccaneer WR Margin Hooks, who trains players in the NFL, College and High School, brings his expertise to the forefront at the camp sessions each year. This year’s first camp in 2022 brought some talent that was impressive. We breakdown several skill players who stood out and created some buzz for themselves after they had standout performances.

Glass is a smooth route runner, transitions easily in and out of his breaks, has fluid hips and gets up to speed quickly. Trishstin at 6’3 has a long athletic frame, a large catch radius, has strong hands that engulf the ball when it’s thrown his way and runs his routes calmly with quiet feet. Glass had an impressive showing at the Sky’s The Limit WR/QB Camp. Glass is a name to know in the Class of 2025 and staked his claim as player who will garner lots of interest from recruiters in the near future.

Sample has a strong compact build, has an explosive first step, cuts in and out of his breaks with brute force and transitions smoothly to complete his routes. After watching Sample’s film from the fall 2021 season at Cy Ranch, it confirms that Jarred is a playmaker. He runs crisp routes, beats press coverage using his strength at the point of attack, exposes defenses with his speed and makes plays after the catch look easy. Sample turned heads today at the Sky’s The Limit Camp in Frisco. Jarred has offers from Kansas and the University of Houston.

Jackson was on fire from the outset of the Sky’s The Limit Camp. Corey runs crisp routes, his hard and decisive cuts show the strength and power that he has at his disposal. Jackson showed off his greats hands and the ability to adjust mid-cut to balls thrown in his direction. Look for Jackson, who is just getting his feet wet in Texas at Mansfield Legacy HS, after moving from Florida, to continue to make an impression this spring as he attends more camps. Corey definitely turned heads at the Sky’s The Limit Camp and created a buzz for himself early in 2022.

Koger has a strong arm with a fluid over the top delivery, has great torque in his hips, has quiet feet that settle well and delivers a hard fast ball with a quick release. At the the Sky’s The Limit Camp, Caleb displayed that he has the arm talent to be accurate, has a firm grasp of the route tree which allowed him to deliver crisp passes throughout the camp. Koger has played in a run oriented offense for the Katy Tigers as the starting for the past two season, but his impressive camp appearance showed that he has the arm talent to play at the next level.

Maurice Sherrod

WR/DB

Lancaster HS
Sherrod showed up and showed out at the Sky’s The Limit Camp. Maurice has the ability to change directions quickly, uses his powerful lower body and hips to make sharp cuts and finishes his routes well. Sherrod tracks the ball well and looks the ball into his grasp consistently. Sherrod had heads turning throughout the camp session, which makes him a name you need to know as the camp season ramps up.
Harris Boyd QB

C/O 2023

Rowlett high school
Boyd has a live, strong arm, and threw multiple frozen ropes with accuracy throughout the Sky’s The Limit Camp. Harris has a long, lean frame which allows him to stand tall with excellent balance and his over the top delivery to go along with violent hip torque, allows him to drive the football with precision. Boyd showed off his quiet feet during his set up, which allows him to have a cat quick release when he throws the football. At 6’3 190. Boyd has the frame that colleges covet at the quarterback position and his in season film backs up what he put on display throughout the camp session. The junior quarterback will have plenty of suitors this spring for his services at the next level.

Marlon Simon

C/O 2024

Twitter: @Marlon J Simon

Spring HS
Simon has a sleek, powerful build, is strong and decisive with his route running and settles in and out of breaks easily. Marlon is a hands catcher who makes it looks effortless and has the ability to turn and explode out of his routes. Simon’s 6’2 frame, along with his twitchy athleticism was front and center at the Sky’s The Limit Camp, as Simon made jump ball catch look like child’s play. Marlon has a large catch radius, which was on display when I reviewed his 2021 fall season film. After a great camp, Simon is building momentum for 2022 and is off to a great start to his off-season. Keep an eye out for the Spring HS wideout to make some noise heading into the camp and 7v7 season.

Kewan Lacy
C/O 2024
RB/ Slot WR
Twitter: @kewanlacy22
IG- @k.lacy2
Lancaster HS
6’0 192
Lacy showed off his versatility at the Sky’s The Limit Camp. Kewan runs excellent routes, sinks his hips well, and is explosive in and out of breaks. Lacy has hands that some wideouts dream about and is natural hands catcher of the football. Kewan’s sophomore season at Nolan Catholic HS was a breakout performance, where he had over 1400 yards with 13 TDs. Lacy is an explosive runner, who shows power and game breaking speed. Lacy isn’t the type of runner who goes down from arm tackles and he has the muscular frame that you want to see in a featured back. Kewan is definitely on the recruiting radar and will be an instant contributor for Lancaster in 2022.

Jairrus Nicholson
C/O 2023
Cedar Hill HS
6’1 160
Twitter: @jayfa6ix
Instagram: @jayfa6ix
Nicholson had a standout showing at the Sky’s The Limit Camp. Jairrus ran technically sounds routes, was sharp in and out of his breaks and displayed his quick twitch ability as he comes out of his breaks consistently. The 6’1 junior, has a stout and athletic frame that coaches at the next level search for in next level recruits. I had chance to attend a first round playoff game where Nicholson and Cedar Hill took on Bryan and he performed well. Jairrus was explosive, showing next level leaping ability when going up for the jump ball and made several over the shoulder grabs which showed his ability to excel at tracking the ball in tight coverage. Nicholson is definitely a playmaker and his buzz should continue to ramp up as we get deeper into the off-season.
Kameron Robinson
C/O 2024
Lancaster HS
6’0 185
Twitter: @kamrobinson__
IG: @k3meronn
Robinson is a smooth route runner, gets in and out of breaks quickly and has a large catch radius. Kameron is rangy, athletic and has soft strong hands that enable him to make difficult catches. After reviewing some of his fall season in 2021, Robinson has the speed to get deep and shows his versatility as a threat to score by also returning kicks and punts. Look for Robinson to raise eyebrows at camps and during the 7v7 season.

Pile had a great outing at the Sky’s The Limit Camp. Jaylen was consistently sharp on his cuts in and out of his breaks and his flexible hips were also on display, as he was able to easily show deep hip bend, while running his routes. Pile turns his hands over with ease, get his shoulders turned quickly to receive the football and makes himself an easy target for the quarterback. Pile showed off his long arm length during the camp session by reaching out and snatching a ball mid- air to save one of the coaches from falling victim to taking a fastball to the head. After reviewing his 8th grade season in 2021, there is no doubt that Jaylen is a playmaker, is calm and steady with his route running and has a burst in the open field that makes him dangerous. During my film study, its apparent that the coach staff at Carroll MS make it their business to get the ball in Jaylen’s hands. Pile will be an impact player in the Carrol program in the near future.
