The Arkansas Elite 100 always have talented prospects that display a preview of what they can do during the regular season. We are going to highlight some of the prospects that are performing well in Houston this weekend.
Jonathan Goins Jr Jonathan Goins Jr 6'2" | 205 lbs | ATH Sylvan Hills | 2024 State AR -Athlete-Sylvan Hills-2024
Goins Jr. is going to be a prospect that scouts are going to want to pay attention as the 2022 season approaches. He has been terrorizing the opposing secondaries over the course of the tournament in Houston. Goins Jr. is the type of player that is a nightmare to cover in the red zone. He has the athletic ability to go up and haul in the tough reception. Keep an eye on Goins Jr. as the offseason and 7-on-7 circuit heat up. The best may be yet to come for Goins Jr.
Malachi Henry Malachi Henry 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Van Buren | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Van Buren-2023
It should come as no surprise to hear that Malachi Henry Malachi Henry 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Van Buren | 2023 State AR has been hauling in tough receptions in Houston. A facet of Henry’s game that is not looked at enough is just how good his hands are in hauling in the football. Henry is a nightmare to attempt to cover in the red zone and does a great job of getting into position to make the reception. He has the potential to have a strong season for the Van Buren Pointers this season and will be a player to watch out for in 2022.
Jabrae Shaw Jabrae Shaw 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Little Rock Mills | 2023 State AR -Defensive Back-Little Rock Mills-2023
The opposing teams in the Houston Pylon 7-on-7 tournament are learning that throwing at Shaw is a rough proposition. Shaw was already a ball hawk but now he is turning into a defensive back that terrorizes opposing wide receivers. He is putting on an impressive display in Houston and in the process getting off to a great start for the offseason. Shaw has the potential to light up teams on both sides of the ball in the fall and I look for college teams to take notice as the 2022 season approaches.
Aydan Easter Aydan Easter 6'1" | 175 lbs | DB Lake Hamilton | 2023 State AR -Defensive Back-Lake Hamilton-2023
The Lake Hamilton defensive back is an intriguing prospect to watch. He has the speed to be a major factor for the Wolves on the defensive side of the ball this season. Easter displays good range and does not give up on the play. Easter is a prospect that has the potential to be a defensive back that quarterbacks will want to avoid throwing at in 2022. He is a defensive back I want to see more of this season for the Wolves. I expect a big season for the Lake Hamilton defensive back in 2022.
Mytorian Singleton Mytorian Singleton 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Bryant | 2024 State AR -Wide Receiver-Bryant-2024
The wide receivers in the class of 2024 are a position group to keep an eye out for over the next few months. In Houston, Singleton has put on display excellent speed and the ability to leave opposing defensive backs trailing behind him. Singleton does a great job of creating separation from opposing defensive backs using his speed. He is a wide receiver that has the potential to be the best in the class of 2024 in the state of Arkansas. Singleton is a nightmare for opposing defensive backs to cover. Look out for Singleton and Bryant in 2022.
Chris Gannaway Chris Gannaway 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Bryant | 2023 State AR -Running Back-Bryant-2023
The 7-A Conference in the state of Arkansas is already well aware that Gannaway is a nightmare to account for when rushing the football. In Houston, Gannaway is displaying a knack for hauling in receptions and making explosive plays in the passing game. Splitting the Bryant running back out to a receiver position allows him to display the versatility that he possesses. Gannaway is one running back that I expect to have a big season in 2022. Bryant and Gannaway are going to be difficult to contend with in 2022.
