Damien McNair | 5’10″ RB | Presbyterian Christian
McNair is 5’10″ tall and 185 lbs; In McNair’s junior season, he played in 11 games and rushed for over 850 yards resulting in 6 TD’s. He is an old-school downhill runner who is not afraid of contact gets stronger and more effective the later the game goes. When a Linebacker meats McNair in a hole, it usually doesn’t end well for the defender. McNair has the opportunity to have a special Senior Season and If the Bobcats make a run in 2022, McNair will play a significant role in their success.
Carter Cockrell | 5’10″ RB | Simpson Academy
Cockrel is 5’10″ tall and 180 lbs; Cockrell gave us a glimpse of greatness in his 2021 campaign for the Cougars. Cockrell set a high standard heading into his senior year, coming off a junior campaign where he rushed for over 1,300 yards resulting in 19 touchdowns on the ground. Cockrell is the Running Back that can do it all, from lining up in the slot, to getting the difficult yard up the middle. Cockrell could be considered a dark horse to win MAIS player of the year in 5A. He is definitely someone to keep your eyes on.
Omar Scott Omar Scott 6'2" | 200 lbs | RB Winston Academy | 2024 State MS | 6’2″ RB | Winston Academy
Scott is 6’2″ tall and 185 lbs; As a Sophomore in 2021, Scott was able to be a bright spot in the Patriots season. When he has the ball in his hands, two attributes he has stood out right away—his quick feet and his long stride as he runs down the sideline. The way he runs might make some flashback of seeing Deuce on the loose in Oxford in the early 2000s. Scott is quick, shifty, and strong with a migraine causing stiff arm. 2022 should be another year for him to grow and become an all-around better Running Back.
Lake Womack | 6’1″ RB | Jackson Prep
Womack is 6’1″ tall, 205 lbs; Womack began to make a name for himself in his sophomore season. He is a master at keeping his pad level low which makes it difficult for one defender to tackle him, trying to tackle Womack is like trying to stop a freight train. The quickness of his first step will catch eyes and open up doors at the next level. In 2022 Womack will be adjusting to a new coach and offense but look for him to be a significant part of the gameplan in 2022.
Quincy Phillips | 5’8″ RB | MRA
Phillips 5’8″ tall 175 lbs; As a Freshman, Phillips helped bring a third straight State Championship to MRA. Two words that describe Phillps best are explosive and dynamic. When he plants his right foot and dashes left, it’s off to the races. Phillps’s vision to see the field is extraordinary, and he has that IT factor to get the ball up the field. The odds of a play resulting in a touchdown are very high anytime he has the ball.
