Success starts up front. The Class of 2023 has several offensive linemen who are flying under-the-radar. Today, we take a look at those offensive line prospects.
[player_tooltip player_id="107224" first="Ty" last="Mead"], 6’2, 260 pounds, Avon
[player_tooltip player_id="107224" first="Ty" last="Mead"] is a stabilizing force on the Avon offensive line and somebody who can destabilize the opposing defensive line. Mead is very strong. His highlight tape frequently shows him overpowering his opponents. This makes him an outstanding blocker to run behind. At guard, Mead can open up holes by clearing out defensive linemen. Mead plays hard until the whistle. He is outstanding in pass protection, keeping a good base and not allowing his man to beat him.
[player_tooltip player_id="185223" first="Josh" last="White"], 6’2, 250 pounds, Lafayette Jefferson
[player_tooltip player_id="185223" first="Josh" last="White"] was a force at guard this past season for Lafayette Jefferson. White plays with great leverage in both pass protection and run blocking. White is an outstanding lead blocker. He moves his feet well, and he can get up to the second level. While he primarily plays guard, White has the added benefit of being able to play center as well. This versatility will help and his team as he can fill multiple needs. [player_tooltip player_id="185223" first="Josh" last="White"] is poised for a big senior campaign.
[player_tooltip player_id="185236" first="Preston" last="Jarvis"], 6’1, 255 pounds, Brownsburg
[player_tooltip player_id="185236" first="Preston" last="Jarvis"] is a leader in the trenches for Brownsburg. Jarvis can play both center and defensive tackle. On top of that, he can also handle long snapping duties. At center, Jarvis does a great job of getting up and set after he snaps the ball. He displays good footwork, and he is very sturdy in pass protection. [player_tooltip player_id="185236" first="Preston" last="Jarvis"] can be the anchor of the offensive line.
[player_tooltip player_id="185532" first="DaCarion" last="Robinson"], 6’2, 220 pounds, Jefferson
[player_tooltip player_id="185532" first="DaCarion" last="Robinson"] is an athletic offensive lineman who coaches will need to keep an eye on this upcoming season. Robinson can play both tackle and guard. He gets out of his stance and moves his feet very well. Robinson is great at sealing the edge in the running game. He does well with pin down blocks, and he is also good at cut blocks. In the running-game, Robinson does an excellent job of initiating the contact and getting to the second level. [player_tooltip player_id="185532" first="DaCarion" last="Robinson"] is somebody that I can see making a significant jump this season.
