A Preview of the Arkansas Sports Combine

Winter weather in the state of Arkansas has messed with the date of the Arkansas Sports Combine. The combine was scheduled for February 5, 2022 but has had to be rescheduled for February 19th. Many the best prospects in the state of Arkansas will be in attendance at the combine. Spring practices, performance combines, and 7-vs-7 tournaments are where folks can get an early look at the talent coming up through the ranks. We are going to take a look at a few players that Prep RedZone Arkansas is excited to see go through the workouts on February 19th.
Greyson Riggins Greyson Riggins 6'3" | 190 lbs | ATH DeWitt | 2024 State AR -Athlete-DeWitt-2024
DeWitt has a habit of producing some talented football players and Greyson Riggins Greyson Riggins 6'3" | 190 lbs | ATH DeWitt | 2024 State AR is no exception. I am impressed by the speed that Riggins has at both the tight end and the defensive end positions. Riggins is a big play threat on both sides of the football. He is a player that I am intrigued to see at the tight end position where his route running, and hands are a nightmare for opposing defensive players to contain. Riggins has the potential to explode this offseason and will be a recruit college scouts should take a long look at.
Monterrio Elston Jr.-Athlete-Little Rock Parkview-2025
Elston Jr. is a player that can be put anywhere on the field and be extremely successful. He has impressive speed, and his vision is excellent. Elston Jr. can identify a lane to run through and explode through the hole. He is a player that you can spilt out wide and use him in the passing game. Elston Jr. is another talented player coming up through the ranks at Little Rock Parkview. Elston Jr. is another prospect that has the potential to become very well know this offseason.
Jamarion Burton Jamarion Burton 6'3" | 200 lbs | ATH Prescott | 2024 State AR -Defensive Line-Prescott-2024
The Prescott defensive lineman uses his 6’3” size well to disrupt the passing game. Burton does an impressive job of getting into the backfield. He is an explosive player that explodes out of the snap and gets into the opposing offensive lineman quickly. Burton does a good job of fending off blocks and being disruptive. Bruton has the size and speed that college scouts will take a long look at over the next few months. Look for Burton to put on a show at the combine on February 19th.
Chase Forte Chase Forte QB Little Rock Southwest | 2025 State AR -Quarterback-Little Rock Parkview-2025
Forte is a quarterback that has good pocket awareness. He knows when to extend the play and does a great job of keeping his eyes down the field. Forte has a strong arm and is impressive throwing the deep ball. The Parkview quarterback does not have a problem pulling the ball down and using his legs to pick up yards. The state of Arkansas has talented quarterbacks coming up through the ranks and Forte is going to be one that can light up the scoreboard over the next few years. He has the potential to be a player we see play on Saturdays in the future.
Ra’Shawn Bell Ra’Shawn Bell 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Prescott | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Prescott-2023
Bell is a playmaker on both sides of the ball for the Curley Wolves. He tracks the ball well in the air and can make plays as a wide receiver or in the secondary. Bell will not give up on a play whether it be on the offensive side or the defensive side of the ball. He has good hands and does a great job of looking the ball into his hands. Bell is a prospect that has the potential to light it up this upcoming season. Bell is another player to keep an eye on at the Arkansas Sports Combine the 19th.
