With the release of the initial 2025 watchlist, here's a breakdown of the top DL prospects on the list. [player_tooltip player_id="282685" first="Jerrold" last="Anderson"], Balboa Anderson is an impressive young athlete with length at 6’4” 205 lbs. Thin frame right now but has the growth potential and room to develop without sacrificing any of his athleticism or speed. Throughout his freshman season he showed his versatility playing both DE and TE while demonstrating his short area speed and lateral agility. Does a good job setting the edge as a force guy then collapsing down to make a tackle. He’s aggressive taking on lead blockers using his strength/power to strike and then disengage to locate the ball carrier. Shows he can redirect and chase in pursuit. Voted 2nd Team All-League DE as a freshman. https://twitter.com/FatAnderson3/status/1474809083735642114?s=20&t=OKvormHPHmfEzkB6eO7Mdg [player_tooltip player_id="281243" first="La’Mario" last="Claiborne"], Damien A lot to like about Claiborne’s skillset early in his high school career. Already possesses a well-built frame at 6’3” 230 lbs. with broad shoulders and long arms. Also has a strong lower half that allows him to generate explosion and use his initial quickness to gain positional leverage right out of his stance. He’s a natural pass rusher that can beat blockers with speed/quickness off the edge or use his strength and hands to fight off contact. Always has a plan and flashes exceptional command of different moves such as rips, spins, dips, and long arm techniques for a young DE. Has been a top performer at several off season camps so far such as the National Preps Combine and Giant Skills Showcase where he has matched up well with more experienced offensive lineman. Great foundational tools and upside to build on as he develops and has all the makings of a future major D1 recruit. https://twitter.com/LaClaiborne/status/1495598023178661888?s=20&t=QG8lJQLKPGB_NrHeAdSOGQ [player_tooltip player_id="282732" first="Hayden" last="Lowe"], Oaks Christian The freshman has already started picking up Power 5 offers after Arizona came through midseason and then Oregon State at the end of January. Won’t be long before he’s a double digit Power 5 offer prospect with his combination of size, speed, and athleticism. At 6’3” 230 lbs. he possesses a well-balanced frame with good arm length and great growth potential. Impressive natural movement skills and mobility for his size and age. He does a good job of setting the edge and flipping his hips to collapse the pocket and close on the quarterback as a pass rusher. In pursuit he shows good short area speed and lateral agility to chase sideline to sideline. Demonstrates good strength and power at the POA and flashes some effective hand usage and placement early on. Projects as one of the top 2025 prospects in the state. https://twitter.com/Hayden_lowe323/status/1486067603663515650?s=20&t=m46_8rV1z8NgELTolynEGA [player_tooltip player_id="282745" first="Tyler" last="Parker"], Santa Margarita At 5’11” 290 lbs. Parker has ideal size and skillset for a developing interior defensive line prospect. He’s a plus athlete for his size that shows good mobility, body control, and explosion off the line. Great all-around strength and power in both his hands and lower half to gain initial penetration and stack/neutralize blockers. Can also anchor down to fill a gap. He’s a high motor fighter that can disengage and chases hard in pursuit. Technically sound with a good variety and combination of moves to beat blockers. Love his leverage and efficient hand usage at the POA. He’s a dual sport athlete (football/wrestling) with high D1 talent and terrific upside as he progresses and matures. https://twitter.com/iam_tylerparker/status/1495584606602465282?s=20&t=Vvm3jnpdh-PAYeHERCv3Mw
