Ty Brown – South Spencer – FS – 5’10” 160lbs
Brown is a lengthy player who can cover a ton of ground. He’s able to cover sideline to sideline without much of an issue either. He’s a decent athlete and is still getting comfortable with the varsity level. In coverage, he has good eyes and stays patient until the ball is in the air. He’s going to trust what he sees and he’s very aggressive with the ball in the air. He’s going to sit back and either try coming up to intercept the ball or layout the receiver. He’s got good hands and won’t drop the ball when it hits his hands. When he comes downhill, he’s a solid tackler but not great. He could learn how to come to balance and how to wrap up the outside hip. Once he gets his hands on the ball carrier they’re going to end up on the ground one way or another. He won’t let go and will hold on until reinforcements arrive if he has to. Brown also returns kicks for South Spencer. He’s got the speed to take it back to the house as some kick-off teams have found out the hard way. Brown has solid vision with the ball in his hands and is a threat to score. He can break tackles and make some guys miss without issue. I’d like to see him develop over the years and put some weight on. If he’s able to, Brown will be a highly sought-after recruit.
Brooks Thomas – Harrison – TE – 6’5″ 225lbs
Thomas is a ton of fun to watch and only getting better. He’s still rather raw at TE, but the sky is the limit. He’s tall, lengthy, has a nice frame, and can out jump just about anyone he comes across. He’s able to go up and highpoint most throws that come in his area. He’s able to jump with guys on him and come down with the ball in his hands without an issue as well. He knows how to use his body to box out guys similar to basketball. Thomas has decent speed for his size as well. He won’t make many guys miss but he’s able to run through defenders. He’s a tough runner with the ball in his hands and is incredibly hard to bring down. Thomas is also a willing blocker in the running game. However, I’d say he’s got some work to do to become a complete TE. He’s strong and has the size to manhandle his guys but he’s not quite there yet. He’s competitive and will fight his tail off when he’s blocking someone, it just needs some work to be refined. I could easily see Thomas becoming one of the better RedZone threats in the state as well. The way he’s able to fight through contact is special. His route tree is still developing and under progress, but there’s a ton to like with where he’s at now regardless. If Thomas is able to develop and puts the work in over the next few years, he could easily be the #1 ranked TE in the state.
Jedidiah Galvin – North Posey – RB – 5’10” 170lbs
Galvin is dynamic and is only getting better as he gets more confidence and reps. He’s got quick feet, solid vision, and is able to get full speed in 2 steps. He can be patient when he needs to as well. He doesn’t panic if the hole doesn’t form and has the speed to bounce the ball to the outside. Once he turns the corner, he’s not going to be caught if there’s open ground in front of him. He’s able to return kicks as well for North Posey and be a threat there. He’s returned a few kicks for TDs already in his career. He’s able to make guys miss and break tackles without much of an issue. Posey is able to come out of the backfield as well. He doesn’t have a ton of work in the passing game, but he’s shown he’s more than capable. He’s got soft hands and is able to watch the ball all the way in with both hands. Over the next few years, I’d love to see him be able to bulk up and clean up some minor footwork issues. Galvin won’t make many mistakes or turn the ball over. He typically keeps the ball high and tight. Galvin is just getting started and the excitement is there. I anticipate him staying at RB in college because of how versatile he could be. If he’s able to continue developing over his High School career, Galvin will be sifting through a plethora of offers.
Evan Parker – Carmel – G – 6’4″ 305lbs
Parker is a big boy who is just getting a feel for Guard. He easily has the size to bounce to the outside and play tackle if they want him to. The running game is where Parker is at his best. He’s typically able to move his guy back a few yards and finish his block with the defender in the dirt. He keeps his feet churning and drives the defender back until they’re in the dirt. In the passing game, I feel like there’s some work to do to be more consistent. His footwork, stepback, and hands could use some work. There are times he’s been caught with his hands on the outside and gets the flag. It hasn’t happened very often, but often enough to make a quick note of it. He has very strong hands and when he hits you, you’ll know. Parker plays through the whistle and won’t be caught giving minimal effort. As powerful as he is, it’s natural. If he’s able to bulk up during his High School career, he’s going to become a force. Defensive linemen won’t move him. He moves them. He’s young and raw but the sky is the limit with where he could go. Parker is always where he needs to be when he needs to be there making the block. Overall, where he is and where he could be in a few years is exciting to look at. If Parker develops and puts the work in during the rest of his career, he could become a menace to defenses and would be able to hand-select his college.
