The tight end position is becoming increasingly critical to an offense’s success. As such, finding quality tight ends is a necessity. The Class of 2023 is loaded with talent at the position. Today, we will look at three under the radar tight ends who will be looking for big things to cap off their high school careers. Look for this group to be matchup nightmares for opposing defenses next fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="185531" first="Dalton" last="White"] is a force for Heritage on both sides of the ball. At tight end, he gets himself in position to get open, and he can be trusted to be make the catch. He is really good in the open field. Once White gets going, it is incredibly difficult to tackle him. Defensively, White is exceptional coming off the edge. He gets off the ball and can turn the corner to get to the quarterback or running back while in the backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id="185207" first="George" last="Burhenn"] was a critical component of a Mt. Vernon team that captured a state championship in Class 4A this past season. Burhenn can be counted on in just about any situation. He makes tough, contested catches look remarkably simple. Even when the defender seems to be in perfect position, Burhenn still comes down with the football. Burhenn has the ability to take the top off the defense down the field. He has good speed and solid route-running skills. [player_tooltip player_id="185207" first="George" last="Burhenn"] can be a big-time player this season for the Marauders.
[player_tooltip player_id="185529" first="Gregory" last="O’banion"], Missisnewa
[player_tooltip player_id="185529" first="Gregory" last="O’banion"] can contribute in multiple ways, and he will be looking for a breakout season in 2022. As a junior, O’banion caught three passes for 36 yards, and he ran the ball twice, scoring two touchdowns in the process. At defensive end, O’banion was a disruptor all season long. He registered 21 tackles and an impressive nine tackles-for-loss. O’banion added one sack, one pass defense and one fumble recovery last term. [player_tooltip player_id="185529" first="Gregory" last="O’banion"] has shown that he has tremendous potential. Look for him to take huge strides this upcoming season.
