Enjoy! On Wednesday, it was national signing day and 2022 prospects from all over the state signed with their future college programs. On Friday, we made our final update to the 2022 rankings. These rankings have been updated multiple times a year since our website launched in the summer of 2020. We can't wait to look back on this final update and see what each guy did at the next level and see just how accurate or inaccurate they were. But over the next several days, we'll spotlight several players at each position that have stood out to us in one way or another. In this post, we take a look at the quarterback position. Overall, 21 quarterbacks made it into the final Top 200 and 6 quarterbacks were in the Top 100. We put a spotlight on just 10 quarterbacks who have stood out to us in one way or another. And at the bottom, we fill you in on every quarterback within the Top 200. 12) [player_tooltip player_id="38671" first="Carson" last="May"] - Jones Really since the 2018-2019 school year, Jones quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="38671" first="Carson" last="May"] has been the consensus top quarterback in the state's 2022 class and nothing has changed that. And in our final ranking, May was once again the top quarterback and a borderline top ten overall prospect and he's signed to play at Iowa. May should fit their system incredibly well as a prototypical passing quarterback who does have the ability to tuck and run. In the last two years, no 2022 quarterback has wowed me with their passing quite like the Jones product, which is a big reason why he has held on to the top spot from the start of our rankings in 2020. 25) [player_tooltip player_id="52787" first="Max" last="Brown"] - Lincoln Christian The only other 2022 quarterback that made a push for May and the top spot was Lincoln Christian quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="52787" first="Max" last="Brown"]. Arguably the best athlete of the ten quarterbacks listed here, Brown had an outstanding senior season, leading Lincoln Christian back to the state championship game. And the last month has been an absolute whirlwind. He had been committed to Central Michigan but a late push and offer from Florida swayed the Lincoln QB and now he's headed to Gainesville to play in the SEC. If he stays at quarterback throughout his college career, the Gators are getting the best dual-threat quarterback in the 2022 class. 45) [player_tooltip player_id="108886" first="Gavin" last="Frakes"] - Norman North Not many quarterbacks made bigger jumps than Norman North's [player_tooltip player_id="108886" first="Gavin" last="Frakes"] throughout the 2021 season. After watching Frakes throughout the offseason, we thought he had this time of potential and could be arguably the best quarterback in 6A-1 during the 2021 season. He put up big time numbers and earned an opportunity to play at the next level. He's headed to New Mexico State after being committed to Princeton for quite a while. Frakes will have the opportunity to have a long and productive career out at NMSU with his ability to make just about every throw and he's athletic enough to tuck the ball and run when he needs to. 91) [player_tooltip player_id="68609" first="Gavynn" last="Parker"] - Hooker One of the more physically gifted quarterbacks coming out of the 2022 class is [player_tooltip player_id="68609" first="Gavynn" last="Parker"] from Hooker. We finally got a chance to see Parker in person for the first time during the 2021 season and it backs up everything we saw from him on tape. He looks the part physically and has the chance to really blow up at the next level. He's going the preferred walk on route at Oklahoma State and that's a good get for the Cowboys to keep the Hooker product in-state. Parker has been one of the top passers in Oklahoma over the last several seasons and we won't be surprised at all if he ends up earning a scholarship spot on the Cowboys roster. 93) [player_tooltip player_id="101415" first="Ty" last="Pennington"] - Sand Springs He's arguably the best quarterback in Sand Springs history after the numbers [player_tooltip player_id="101415" first="Ty" last="Pennington"] put up over the last several seasons. Pennington helped lead the Sandites to a semifinal appearance, falling one game shy of playing for a state title after competing in without a doubt the toughest district in the large classes. Pennington led a Sand Springs offense that was outstanding throughout the year and kept an incredible balance between throwing and running the ball. Pennington has signed to play college ball at Pitt State, joining a few other in-state prospects headed north. Pennington has earned his spot among the other top quarterbacks within the Top 100. 95) [player_tooltip player_id="200116" first="Alan" last="McKeefry"] - Spiro Only one year of Oklahoma high school football was enough to land Spiro's [player_tooltip player_id="200116" first="Alan" last="McKeefry"] on the list and into the Top 100 for overall prospects. McKeefry moved to Oklahoma last offseason from California and has been an instant impact player for the Bulldogs this year. Because he moved into the state and only had one year of high school ball, McKeefry flew under the radar across the state as a quarterback prospect. But we looked at the numbers he put up for a Spiro team who actually had a down year and he's the reason they were in more ball games. McKeefry might be one and done in Oklahoma but he earned his spot on this list with that one year of play. 120) [player_tooltip player_id="189180" first="Boyce" last="McIntosh"] - Community Christian There's just something about the quarterbacks in this state that attracts Drake to Oklahoma. Community Christian quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="189180" first="Boyce" last="McIntosh"] is the latest example of an Oklahoma quarterback who is signed to play for Drake. We can't knock them because former in-state QBs have been successful there. McIntosh had a fantastic senior season after a breakout year as a junior. McIntosh might appear to be undersized compared to some of the other quarterbacks on this list but you throw on the tape and watch him play and it's impressive. McIntosh does a lot that you want from the QB position that make up for any questions about his height. 142) [player_tooltip player_id="52273" first="Ben" last="Harman"] - Cashion It's hard to argue that any other quarterback in the 2022 class had a more successful career than Cashion's [player_tooltip player_id="52273" first="Ben" last="Harman"]. He started for three years, took the Wildcats to the state title game all three years, including championship wins in the last two. He became a rare member of the 10,000 yard club. And it's actually not that rare for the Harman family as older brother Matt is also in the club. Harman has one of the best deep balls of anyone in the 2022 class and he has gradually gotten better every single season. Harman is signed to play college ball at UCO and the Bronchos have had a good run of in-state quarterbacks over the last several years. 163) [player_tooltip player_id="193013" first="Christian" last="Burke"] - Bixby We go from a 10,000 yard passer to a one-year starter as Bixby quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="193013" first="Christian" last="Burke"] had the tough task of replacing three-year starter Mason Williams. However, Burke made the most of his opportunity and won the starting job and played nearly perfect football throughout the season. It should be noted that the offense he was running was one of the best we've seen in recent memory, averaging over 60 points per game. There's no doubt that Burke had an advantage with the talent around him every single week but he made the most of his moment, helping lead Bixby to another state championship in a season where most weeks he was done by halftime. 165 - [player_tooltip player_id="119092" first="Gunnar" last="Thrash"] - Perkins-Tryon Continuing the "one and done" theme from Bixby's one-year starter in Burke to [player_tooltip player_id="119092" first="Gunnar" last="Thrash"] at Perkins-Tryon. The Demon QB patiently waited behind Austin Mages for his time to take over the Perkins-Tryon offense and it paid off in a big way. We had pretty high expectations after watching Thrash play in the offseason with Sooner7 but you never know how players are going to react to the bright lights of Friday nights and Thrash excelled. He had Perkins-Tryon as a dark horse contender in Class 3A and put up some big numbers throwing and running the ball. Thrash made the most of his opportunity and played incredibly well. Other Quarterbacks In Top 200 [player_tooltip player_id="38687" first="Gage" last="Hamm"] - Coweta (Ranked #117) [player_tooltip player_id="61144" first="Scott" last="Pfieffer"] - Edmond Santa Fe (Ranked #118) [player_tooltip player_id="38725" first="Nate" last="Ratcliff"] - Adair (Ranked #128) [player_tooltip player_id="200111" first="Brett" last="Pense"] - Deer Creek (Ranked #162) [player_tooltip player_id="48987" first="Triton" last="Chandler"] - Victory Christian (Ranked #169) [player_tooltip player_id="193014" first="Griffin" last="Stieber"] - Broken Arrow (Ranked #173) [player_tooltip player_id="101412" first="Kane" last="Donovan"] - John Marshall (Ranked #177) [player_tooltip player_id="38744" first="Drew" last="Wood"] - Crossings Christian (Ranked #183) [player_tooltip player_id="38710" first="Noah" last="Peters"] - Southmoore (Ranked #185) [player_tooltip player_id="283169" first="Trent" last="Boatright"] - McAlester (Ranked #193) [player_tooltip player_id="115217" first="Camden" last="McCrary"] - Bixby (Ranked #200)
