They have a deep 2023 class, so their veteran leadership and overall talent should lead them to another giant season this fall. They have a talented roster and plenty of under the radar prospects who are bound for big 2022 seasons.
Cayden Lee Cayden Lee 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR Hillgrove | 2023 State GA – Wide Receiver
There’s been plenty of hype around Lee for years now, and even though he’s dealt with some injuries so far in his career, it’s easy to see the overall talent, dedication, and effort that he brings to game. He’s an incredibly twitchy receiver with great feet and the ability to create separation. He works hard on his craft, he’s dedicated to perfecting the details of his game, and he’s only getting better. He has good size 6-foot-0 180-pounds, and his reliable hands and ability to get by defenders make him one of the state’s best in the 2023 class. As a junior last fall, Lee caught 54 passes for over 1,000 yards and 11 TDs. Lee already holds offers from Georgia, Auburn, FSU, and Kentucky, with more likely coming his way.
Jailen Taylor – Wide Receiver
One of the breakout stars in the region last fall, Taylor is an explosive playmaker who knows how to run away from defenders. He didn’t catch a ton of passes, but when he did, he made it count for big yards. A speedy wideout, Taylor shows game-changing speed and can score on any particular play. He caught 22 passes last fall for 710 yards (32.3 yards per reception) and 10 touchdowns. The Mustangs have plenty of weapons on offense, but Taylor was one of the more dynamic and explosive receivers on the roster. The Cobb County standout is starting to see his recruitment take off, and he picked up a recent one from UAB.
Chance Arthur – Running Back
One of the top young backs in the 2025 class, Arthur is a strong, powerful runner 5-foot-11 205-pounds who more than held his won rushing the ball as a freshman last year. He didn’t light up the stat sheet, but he got better and better with each game and should help carry thee load as a sophomore in 2022. He moves well for his size, plays above his age, and can carry defenders for extra yards at the end of carriers. He’s a fluid runner and does a nice job ow lowering his shoulders and finishing runs off strong. He’s a rising sophomore back to know about this year.
Jayleen Moson – Defensive Back
A long, think cornerback at 5-foot-11 155-pounds, he may be on the lighter, smaller side right now, but he runs well, he’s technically sound, and it’s easy to see his Power-5 talent. Wake Forest has shown interest and others will likely show interest as well. He’s a promising defensive back who could really break out as a senior in 2022.
Evan Duke – Tight End
A former full-time linebacker, Duke is a 6-foot-2 220-pound tight end with size and athleticism. He’s one of the better athletes in his class and one of the many talented prospects in the 2023 class. Look for him to continue to improve this offseason and have a big senior season later this fall.
