An inside look into the recruiting updates from around the state. [player_tooltip player_id="87409" first="Jonathan" last="Landry"], 2023, DB, Evergreen – Offer from Nevada Landry added to his list of offers with Nevada coming in right before the new year bringing his total to four. Previously offered by Florida Atlantic, Utah State, and Virginia he is sure to add more with his versatility and exceptional athleticism. Can impact the game in all three phases but projects as a DB at the college level where he can use his quick break and recovery speed to cover sideline to sideline. https://twitter.com/Jonathanlandryy/status/1477038881266487298?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="87365" first="Isaiah" last="Malloe"], 2022, DB, Kennedy Catholic – Offer from College of Idaho Malloe capped off a great career at Kennedy Catholic with an All-State selection and a recent rise in his recruitment with three offers coming in back to back to back. Picked up his first offer from Pacific on December 28th then followed it up with Willamette and College of Idaho right after. He was long overdue for his first offer with his combination of natural ability and fundamentals from any position in the secondary. He's a fluid athlete with good instincts/anticipation in coverage and is physical/aggressive coming down hill in run support. Wouldn't be surprised to see his list keep growing. https://twitter.com/malloe_isaiah/status/1476651402415915015?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="87417" first="Landen" last="Hatchett"], 2023, OL, Ferndale – Offer from Miami, Colorado Hatchett is a top OL prospect in the western region and is quickly becoming a national recruit with additional offers coming in from Miami and Colorado this week. He now holds nine offers with eight of them being Power 5 programs including Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Michigan. Playing center at 6'3” 285 lbs. he's an excellent athlete with good bend and mobility for the position. He has great feet and short area burst to be an effective blocker in space while pulling and working to the second level. Expect more of the top programs in the country to offer him going into his senior year. https://twitter.com/LandenHatchett/status/1480615531312943105?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="87402" first="Jayden" last="Wayne"], 2023, DL, Lincoln – Offer from UCLA The highest ranked 2023 player in the state and one of the nation's top recruits added UCLA to his long list of 36 offers. At 6'5” 245 lbs. he possesses elite level length, size, and athleticism. He's explosive off the LOS and makes excellent use of his long reach/hands when disengaging and shedding blocks. Still a lot of untapped raw potential but has a great foundational skillset to build on for the college level and possibly on Sundays. https://twitter.com/JaydenWayne8/status/1477454960925175810?s=20 James Yoon, 2022, K, Jackson – Committed to Johns Hopkins Yoon committed to the prestigious Johns Hopkins University last week over a handful of other offers. Possesses a strong and accurate leg both as a punter and kicker and was voted 1st team All-Area Punter and 1st team All-Conference Kicker for the 2021 season. https://twitter.com/James_Yoon16/status/1478939186497409025?s=20 Marcus Heffernan, 2022, ATH, Bothell – Offer from Whitworth With an offer from Whitworth last week Heffernan now holds four offers including Pacific, Linfield, and Pacific Lutheran all coming within the last month. Good size/frame to build on at 6'3” 185 lbs. with a wide skillset to play either side of the ball at the college level. He's tough and physical on both sides of the ball and flashes good straight line speed to close space as a DB or slip by coverage as a WR to be a vertical threat. https://twitter.com/MarcusHefferna2/status/1477848935368593408?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="87405" first="Caleb" last="Presley"], 2023, DB, Rainier Beach – Offer from Georgia Tech The elite DB out of Rainier Beach added Georgia Tech to his resume last week bringing his total to 27. He has his pick of schools with offers from many of the top programs in the country including Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, LSU, and Notre Dame. He's an exceptional athlete with great fluidity, twitch, and top end speed. Outstanding ability to transition and explode out of his breaks to close space and make a play on the ball. He's one of the top 2023 DB's in the country. https://twitter.com/CalebPresley5/status/1478109212710367234?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="151933" first="Trishion" last="Sullivan"], 2022, DL, Spanaway Lake – First offer from Central Washington Sullivan picked up his long awaited first offer from Central Washington. For an edge defender, he's got length and great growth potential in his frame at 6'4” 215 lbs. Flashes plus athleticism and quick twitch in his first step to gain positional leverage right off the LOS. He bends well off the edge and shows good command of various pass rush moves to mix up his looks and beat defenders. Will look to build off this first offer before signing day. https://twitter.com/trishion1/status/1478540985839734786?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="87380" first="Cody" last="Wheeler"], 2022, ATH, Hockinson – Offer from Pacific The two-way playmaker (RB/LB) picked up his first offer from Lewis and Clark in early December and recently added Pacific. At 6'0” 210 lbs. Wheeler is a tough throwback football player that racked up 630 yards and 11 touchdowns rushing and 136 tackles on defense. He's a physical and downhill attacking player on both sides of the ball. He's powerful at the POA playing with good pad level and leverage to deliver strong contact on every play. Projects as a LB at the next level. https://twitter.com/codywheelr/status/1478170769574088707?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="151864" first="Dylan" last="Carson"], 2022, RB, Marysville Pilchuck – Offer from Linfield Carson set multiple school records and led the state in rushing with 2,657 yards and 46 touchdowns as a senior. First offered by Central Washington soon after the season and has since added Pacific and Linfield. He's a good all-around back with good balance, strength, and leg drive at the POA to break tackles and run through contact. He's instinctive with the ball in his hands as he waits for his blocks to develop and finds an open running lane then decisively hits the hole hard. Proved he can pound the ball between the tackles or turn the corner to the outside with speed and burst. He's competitor with great intangibles as well. https://twitter.com/DylanJ_Carson/status/1478450875655864323?s=20 Andre Northrup, 2022, ATH, Hockinson – First offer from Pacific Northrup picked up his first offer from Pacific just last week. At 6'0” 190 lbs. he proved he can be an impact player in all three phases. He shows excellent ball skills at both WR and DB displaying the catch radius, body control, and timing to attack and snatch the ball out of the air especially in traffic. Love his spatial awareness as a route runner to bait defenders and create separation. On defense, he plays well with his eyes to put himself in position to makes plays. Good talent and upside for the college level. https://twitter.com/DreNorthrup/status/1478526238981427200?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="87331" first="Myles" last="Mayovsky"], 2022, ATH, Kennewick – Offered/Committed to Eastern Washington Mayovsky picked up several offers early in his recruitment including Louisiana-Lafayette and Army before landing Eastern Washington last week that he ultimately committed to on the same day. A huge contributor on both sides of the ball to Kennewick's run to the 3A State Championship game he's a strong and physical presence both as a ball carrier and linebacker. Powerful at the POA he shows great contact balance and leverage in addition to his speed and lateral agility in space. Possesses the talent and ability to take over and dominate a game in all three phases. https://twitter.com/MayovskyMyles/status/1478463583855919107?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="199103" first="Talon" last="Betts"], 2022, ATH, Rochester – Offer from Linfield The explosive playmaker added Linfield to his list of offers that also includes Pacific, Presentation College, Whitworth, Puget Sound, and Lewis and Clark. He's a versatile offensive threat that can line up all over the field to make plays as a ball carrier or receiver. Flashes good all-around speed and elusiveness with the ball in his hands. He has the ability make defenders miss with his lateral agility, start/stop speed, or his strong and sustained second gear. He's an underrated prospect that racked up over 2,000 all-purpose yards and 17 touchdowns on the season. https://twitter.com/TalonBetts3/status/1478428130796707840?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="151886" first="Albersh" last="Kuwa"], 2022, ATH, Southridge – Offer from Willamette The 6'1” 205 lb. RB out of Southridge picked up his first offer from Willamette. Senior season was limited due to an early injury but he's a plus athlete with track speed. Very fluid with his movement and change of direction to weave around defenders and make quick lateral cuts in the open field. He's a tough runner that can break through first contact and lower his shoulder to pick up extra yardage. His best football is ahead of him. https://twitter.com/AlbershKuwa/status/1478897234552909825?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="87407" first="Jayden" last="Limar"], 2023, RB, Lake Stevens – Offer from Boise State, Miami The top ranked 2023 RB in the state continues his to rise up national recruiting boards with offers coming in from Miami and Boise State. He now holds 14 offers from some of the elite programs in the country including Notre Dame, Michigan, Oregon, USC, and Texas A&M. He possesses a great combination of speed, power, and elusiveness. He's a natural ball carrier with the ability to read/anticipate his blocks and see open running lanes and cutbacks. He's quick and shifty in the open field and has a strong sustained second gear to finish off long runs in the endzone. Expect the high level D1 offers to keep rolling in. https://twitter.com/jayden_limar/status/1479258022371151875?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="199114" first="Will" last="Eaton"], 2022, WR, Eastlake – First offer from Arizona State Eaton had a big recruiting week with his first offer coming in from Arizona State and then picking up a preferred walk-on to Utah shortly after. He shows a great drive phase into his route with good transition in and out of his breaks to create separation at the break point. A natural pass catcher that uses his length to extend and catch balls outside his framework. Looking to continue this hot streak in his recruiting and build off these two PAC12 opportunities. https://twitter.com/WillEaton13/status/1479169733316333568?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="87368" first="Joshua" last="Wood"], 2022, QB, Graham-Kapowsin – Offer from Nevada, Fresno State The most underrated prospect in the state is finally receiving the recruiting attention he deserves with two Mountain West offers coming in this week from Nevada and Fresno State. Voted the Washington Gatorade Player of the Year and led his team to an undefeated season that featured a state championship and a win in the 2021 Geico Bowl Series over Georgia state champion Collin Hill. Checks a lot of boxes as a college QB with his smooth release, great decision making, and leadership abilities. Shows great accuracy and arm strength to make the throws at all three levels with precision. Still committed to Eastern Washington but will be interesting to see what happens if the FBS offers continue to roll in. https://twitter.com/Joshuawood02/status/1479610016751521794?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="115335" first="Jason" last="Brown"], 2024, RB, O'Dea – Offer from Boise State The top ranked 2024 RB picked up an offer from Boise State to bring his total to 12 including Florida State, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC.
