One of the top young weapons in South Georgia for GISA 3AAA, the Thomasville native is coming off a dynamic sophomore season, proving he’s one of the best in the area with the ball in his hands. A versatile playmaker at 5-foot-9 165-pounds, Thomas plays bigger than his size and shows natural athleticism, spinning and slashing his way through defenders with ease. He’s a ball-hawk on defense and has exceptional hands when the ball is in the air. As a sophomore, Thomas caught 68 passes for 981 yards and 6 touchdowns. He plays like an upperclassmen, and while he does play in a lesser-talented region overall, it’s easy to see his D1 potential down the road.
Jonathan Gallinaro – Mt Vernon
Another dynamic receiver, Gallinaro is an Atlanta native who plays in A Private Region 5, and was one of the very best pass catchers in the entire classification. The 5-foot-11 165-pounder is great after the catch and has a solid frame for his size. He has reliable hands and can be lined up in multiple receiver positions. He’s quick and shift out of the slot and has enough speed to get behind defenses for a big gain down the field. As a sophomore last fall, Gallinaro caught 46 passes for 943 yards and 10 touchdowns. He gets open consistently, runs a good route for an underclassmen, and could see an even bigger season come his way next fall.
Keshawn Weathers – Towers
The Decatur native from metro-Atlanta has had a breakout sophomore season this fall, making giant plays on both sides of the ball this year. Always one of the top athletes on the field, Weathers is a quick, twitchy 6-foot-0 170-pounder with big-play ability. During the regular season, Weathers was his best as a pass catcher as he hauled in 57 balls for 831 yards and 4 touchdowns. He’s also added 155 rushing yards and one more touchdown. He’s also an excellent, physical defensive back on defense. He shows quick feet, great ball skills, and could see some college interest come his way this offseason.
Ny Carr – Colquit County
One of the top young receivers in South Georgia, the Packer sophomore showed big-play ability last season for one of the state’s top programs, proving that he can really take off for big yards after the catch. He’s a smooth route-runner for his age and can smell the end-zone the second he touches the ball. He can really separate from defenders once he gets some space and can turn on the jets down the field. In one of the toughest regions across the state, Carr proved to be one of the biggest playmakers, catching an impressive 40 passes for 856 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season. Look for some D1 interest to come his way sooner than later.
