The big dawgs who dominate the line and change games with their pressure and run stops are the ones listed below. Here we have some of the best edge rushers and gap fillers not only in the area, but in the state as well. Some top names are listed but some guys who raised their stock will be on it as well!
<em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">[player_tooltip player_id="60731" first="Anthony" last="Holmes"] Jr. - Westfield</span></strong></span></em>
One of the best linemen in the state, Holmes was an absolute dominant force. No single block or even some double teams could hold him. The quick hands, quick feet, and strength to shake off blockers made him such a threat. Not enough can be said about Holmes play. For his senior season, Holmes tallied 16 sacks, 96 tackles, 26 TFLs, 3 forced fumbles, and an interception.

<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="117025" first="Kristopher" last="Ross"] - North Shore</strong></span></em></span>
State champion Ross was another interior lineman who just bullied his opponent. The quick first step was too much for many and that combined with his strength made him seem unfair. The Texas signee showed a great motor and drive, and made plays over and over again in the backfield. He along with the North Shore defense were too much for teams to overcome.

<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="257000" first="Lukia" last="Rawls"] - Klein Cain</strong></span></em></span>
84 tackles, 17 sacks, and 41 TFLs. Rawls was a menace behind the line of scrimmage, which is nothing new for him. He controlled the line in almost every game and displayed his skills with rips, swims, and straight bull rushes. Rawls is much quicker than your average defensive tackle which caught many teams off guard. He just purely dominated game in, game out.

<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Chibuikem Nwajuaku - Cy Ranch</strong></span></em></span>
Nwajuaku showed that he is a versatile lineman who can rotate from the inside to the outside and make plays at either position. He is quick off the snap, physical at the point of attack, and is agile enough to make pass rushing moves. The future Rice Owl showed much on the field including leadership along with his tremendous skill on the field.

<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Jayden Madkins - Shadow Creek</strong></span></em></span>
Big man in the middle flexed his muscles during his senior season. A one on one nightmare who used brute strength to move the opposition out of the way. Madkins is what you call a true run stuffer. At the nose, he provided much pressure and created opportunities for his teammates if he could not get there. He showed that he was good with his hand use and took on doubles with no problems.
