Stock Up Showcase Performance: Quarterbacks

In this article:

He looked solid in the quarterback drills showed very nice footwork, nice throwing motion, and had a consistent base on many of his throws. The best part was he exhibited the mindset to accept coaching and implement what was being taught.Iron Sharpens Iron

He had the most consistent day of all the quarterbacks from the New Jersey area. Specifically, in the throwing portion of camp. He had many accurate throws and displayed his ability to be accurate on short and intermediate throws. One thing that was written before about Perez was, did he have the ability to play on time and in rhythm due to being a very dynamic quarterback in terms of extending plays and making plays with his feet. He is a quarterback who has thrown for over 2000 yards through the air and ran for 1,000. His performance yesterday at the showcase was very encouraging to see for his evolution as a passer.Getting Better

He showed a refreshing eagerness to be out there. Being first at almost every quarterback drill and performing well in all. He made an emphasis on technique and constantly talked through what he could do to get better. He took getting better very seriously. Once again, we’ll keep reiterating his has really good physical tools and she showed that he can drive the football with accuracy displayed on this throw:9’10 broad jump at the @PrepRedzoneNJ pic.twitter.com/zmxRXeDOE7

Just want to start by saying that. Yes. This was an incompletion, but he did a bunch of things well on this throw. Let’s first realize that the quarterback position has much to do with rhythm and timing, and trying to develop that with wide receivers you’ve never worked with before. Is beyond tough. This pass was thrown before the wide receiver was out of his break. Due t how the route developed it caused him to have to hold on to a lot longer than he should (credit to the defensive back). Very impressed with the placement of this ball; it was on the frame of the wide receiver and far away from the defensive back where the receiver could make a play on it. The throw may have had a little bit more heat than the wide receiver was intending for, but that was the situation called for, which gave the wide receiver more than ample opportunity to make a play on it. Dietz is going to be entering his junior year and with him working on his game relentlessly, it's always encouraging to see. He really just needs more reps and as he gets those reps he has the physical tools to take advantage of all levels of the field as a passer.@ConnorDietz6 Quick Game pic.twitter.com/bMIc3ZuMqA
