Maybe the most underrated back in the region, Williams was an impact player for the Danes last fall, earning All County, All Region, and All Metro honors after a big junior season. He had over 1,000 scrimmage yards last fall, proving to be a dependable and reliable option offensively. He’s got great vision, he’s explosive, and he’s a dangerous weapon out of the backfield. He’s a threat to make a big play any time he touches the ball, and he touched it a lot last fall. He’ll be one of the top returning RBs in North Georgia next fall.
Ricky Fulton Ricky Fulton 5'7" | 170 lbs | RB Thomasville | 2023 State GA – Thomasville
The tackle-breaking machine from South Georgia had another strong season for the Bulldogs and helped lead an impressive Thomasville offense deep into the playoffs. He’s strong, has good balance, and proved that he can break off a long run. This offseason will be important, and if he can continue to work on his body and take the next step in his development, he could his recruitment take off down the road. Sharing carries with senior Malik Harper, Fulton rushed 183 times for 954 yards and six touchdowns. He’s got a smaller frame, but make no mistake, he’s one of the more efficient runners in South Georgia for the 2023 class.
DJ Rogers – Pepperell
Rogers, one of the top backs in Northwest Georgia, is a smaller, quicker back at 5-foot-8 165-pounds, but he has no problem making defenders look silly down the field. He’s fast, explosive, and can change directions on a dime. He’s a threat to score every time he touches the ball and is coming off one of the better junior seasons of anyone is thee state, rushing 195 times for 1,481 yards and 21 touchdowns. He’s dynamic and dependable in the passing game as well, catching 15 passes for 279 yards and three more scores. He has great footwork, shows good burst, and he’s one of the best runners in the open field. Even with his size, it’s easy to see the D1 talent that he brings to the table.
DJ Bell – Pierce County
Another standout back from South Georgia, Bell is having an excellent high school career and will be a legend the second he leaves Pierce County. After leading them to a state championship as a sophomore, Bell had an outstanding season last fall, carrying the load and torching defenses week after week. A smaller, quicker back, Bell showed great balance, an impressive spin move, and the ability to score very time he has the ball. He’s a natural runner with great vision, but more importantly, he knows how to elude defenders. As a junior last fall, Bell rushed 263 times for 1,887 yards (210 rushing yards per game) and 23 touchdowns.
