In the coming weeks positional and overall rankings will be released by class. Per usual all rankings are based on who projects highest at the collegiate level. Have a look at the state’s top 12.. WR 1.[player_tooltip player_id="147861" first="Luke" last="Leighton"] 6-5 190 Sheldon- Look for Leighton’s stock to sky rocket over the off season. His combination of versatility and size speak for itself, with impressive body control at 6-5. He backed it up on the field during the season, earning 1st team all-conference honors on both sides of the football, while catching 43 passes for 660 yards and 8 TDs. 2.[player_tooltip player_id="110176" first="Demarcus" last="Houston"] 6-2 185 West Albany (OFFERS: Oregon St)- Houston received that early offer from Oregon St and may end up on the defensive side of the ball, but he is equally talented offensively. His versatility will be a primary factor in the recruiting process. 3.[player_tooltip player_id="206761" first="Andrew" last="Walker"] 6-1 170 South Medford- One of the most impressive two-way athletes in Oregon. Walker lacks some notoriety playing down South, but earned 1st team all-conference honors on both sides of the football, with 26 receptions for 624 yards and 3 TDs (24 yards per catch average). 4.[player_tooltip player_id="271479" first="Braiden" last="Copeland"] 6-2 195 McNary- Copeland comes from a talented family and is a big, physical athlete, who may end up playing on the defensive side of the ball at the next level. That said as he was one of the most impressive receivers state wide earning 1st team all-league honors. 5.[player_tooltip player_id="147254" first="AJ" last="Perez"] 6-3 170 Tigard- Perez is a 2x all conference WR, playing for a run-oriented team. He is lanky and moves well in the open field. Look for him to have a successful off season on the 7v7 circuit. 6.[player_tooltip player_id="110204" first="Baylor" last="Corbin"] 6-2 170 Lakeridge- Over the last two seasons Corbin has caught 47 passes for 573 yards and 2 TDs, averaging 12.2 yards per catch. The Pacers will air it out next year with one of the top QB’s in the Northwest, so expect him to have a big year statistically. 7.[player_tooltip player_id="270089" first="Jeremiah" last="Schwartz"] 6-3 185 Ridgeview- One of the fastest rising 5A athletes. He earned 1st team all-conference honors and was one of the only underclassmen to be named all state. During the regular season he finished tied for 2nd state wide in receiving TDs with 9, while catching 28 passes for 683 yards. 8.[player_tooltip player_id="270226" first="Owen" last="West"] 6-1 180 Lake Oswego- You will hear West’s name often next year with LO graduating a very talented senior class. He has good speed and can also play some D, earning honorable mention All TRL honors at WR as a Junior. 9.[player_tooltip player_id="271425" first="Lucas" last="Burkeen"] 5-10 170 Lakeridge- Burkeen had a breakout 2021 season catching 25 passes for 312 yards and 3 TDs in 11 games. He is one of the fastest kids in the conference, and could benefit a great deal from having one of the most talented QBs in the West leading the offense next year. 10.[player_tooltip player_id="271347" first="Cooper" last="Hiday"] 5-11 160 Wilsonville- Hiday was a big reason for the Wildcats continued success this past season, earning 1st team All NWOC honors, while catching 32 passes for 832 yards and 9 TDs. Kids smooth. 11.[player_tooltip player_id="110230" first="Leithan" last="Thompson"] 6-3 185 Sandy- Thompson is another kid who impresses with his overall physicality and size. He earned 1st & 2nd team all-conference accolades at three different positions (WR/DB/P) while catching 36 passes for 521 yards and 6 TDs. 12.[player_tooltip player_id="270228" first="Max" last="Kirsch"] 6-0 170 Nelson- Kirsch had a nice year earning 2nd team All Mt Hood honors at WR while excelling on defense. There is still a lot yet to be determined with the new school but Kirsch will reap the benefits of having one the best freshman QB’s in the West in Avirey Durdahl. 12tie.[player_tooltip player_id="271399" first="Jackson" last="Tunick"] 6-0 160 Grants Pass- Another athlete who most aren’t aware of, but could be considered one of the top overall athletes in the Southern part of the state. He earned 2nd team All SWC honors for a GP program which has recently struggled.
