In the coming weeks positional and overall rankings will be released by class. Per usual all rankings are based on who projects highest at the collegiate level. Have a look at the state’s top 15..
.[player_tooltip player_id="110209" first="Jordan" last="Fisher"] 5-8 175 Westview- This kid is the real deal. Typically the size would prevent an individual from playing at the D1 level but I would consider Fisher an exception to the rule. In 10 games he rushed 163 times for 1549 total yards and 26 TDs.
.[player_tooltip player_id="110182" first="Chip" last="Allers"] 6-3 215 Summit- Allers projects as one of the top players in Oregon on the defensive side of the ball. That said as he transitioned to the RB spot late in the year and was dominant. He has the size and speed to be a 200+ yard, 3 TD per game RB in 2022.
.Donald Stephens Jr. 6-0 210 Grant- Chili broke out as a freshman putting together some impressive film at the Varsity level. From a recruiting standpoint a lot will depend on this off season and how he shows up. If he is a D1 RB he will absolutely dominate the PIL.
.[player_tooltip player_id="205818" first="Noah" last="Staley"] 6-0 220 (FB) Jesuit - There aren’t many universities using fullbacks any more but Staley should be in the mix for anyone that does. He earned 1st team all conference honors on both sides of the football (DE) and is one of the biggest hitters state wide.
.[player_tooltip player_id="147245" first="Josiah" last="Davis"] 5-11 205 North Salem- For the most part Davis had his way with the competition at the 5A level, leading the state in rushing TDs (20) during the regular season, while averaging 8.5 ypc. Straight ahead speed is the primary question mark.
.[player_tooltip player_id="205822" first="Payton" last="Roth"] 6-3 210 Jesuit- Roth split time with a few other talented backs ([player_tooltip player_id="28888" first="Michael" last="Rincon"] & [player_tooltip player_id="152333" first="Lonnie" last="Burt"] ) .He has great size and moves well, but there is still a lot yet to be determined. He was a 200+ yard and multiple TD back on a few occasions.
.[player_tooltip player_id="147244" first="Luke" last="Ash"] 5-9 170 Clackamas- If we are talking 1st team all state and conference POY favorites, Ash is that guy next year. As a junior he was dominant rushing for 1,168 yards and 19 TDs, while averaging 8.4 yards per carry. Size is the key variable.
.[player_tooltip player_id="110218" first="Grafton" last="Robinson"] 5-11 175 Sheldon- One of the state’s top all purpose backs. He accounted for 1,446 total yards and 12 TDs on the year, catching 26 passes for 400 yards and excelling as a return man with 598 yards after the kick.
.[player_tooltip player_id="119072" first="Ty" last="Pugliano"] 5-10 180 North Medford- One of the SWC’s top overall athletes. Ty projects on D but earned 1st team all league honors from his RB spot, and will be in contention for conference POY honors on both sides of the ball next season.
.[player_tooltip player_id="270225" first="Hunter" last="MacDonald"] 6-0 200 Barlow- MacDonald comes from a talented family and runs hard with good vision and speed. On the year he ran for 987 yards and 14 TDs. Really like this kid.
.[player_tooltip player_id="270083" first="Konner" last="Grant"] 5-11 185 Tigard- Physical kid who possesses legit vision when running the ball and returning kicks. He earned 2nd team All TRL honors and will run behind a talented and experienced line next season.
.[player_tooltip player_id="147248" first="Zachariah" last="Frazier"] 6-0 220 La Salle- Frazier probably doesn’t get enough credit playing for a winless Falcons team (0-9), but he has size and can run over you and around you, earning all conference honors as a Sophomore.
.[player_tooltip player_id="110217" first="Hudson" last="Davis"] 5-10 185 Newberg- More of a defensive presence (Conference POY) but also a physical back who plays with no fear. Could be a super talented small college wrestler/football athlete.
.[player_tooltip player_id="206770" first="Payton" last="Lambert"] 6-0 180 Pendleton- A standout baseball player, Lambert can also play some football. He finished in the top 10 in TDs at the 5A level and impresses with his overall athleticism.
.[player_tooltip player_id="270183" first="Eric" last="Pendergrass"] 6-0 185 Ridgeview- One of the state statistical leaders at the 5A level. Pendergrass finished 3rd in TDs (17) and 2nd in yards (1250) during the regular season, for a Ravens team which doesn’t get a lot of pub playing out in Central Oregon.
tie.[player_tooltip player_id="205812" first="Kohler" last="Hernandez"] 5-10 170 Central- This kid played lights out most of the year, similar to QB [player_tooltip player_id="147249" first="Chase" last="Nelson"], for a team that struggled. Hernandez went for 1,069 rushing & receiving yards and 10 TDs as one of the top dual threat backs in the state at the 5A level.
