Yesterday, we started looking at the offensive linemen who earned a spot on the All-State Top 50 team. Today, that evaluation continues with five more outstanding prospects. The four seniors on this list are all committed to power five programs. The entire group is capable of being dominant at the next level. Their postseason recognition is certainly justified.
[player_tooltip player_id="39050" first="Landen" last="Livingston"], 6’4, 280 pounds, Leo, Senior
[player_tooltip player_id="39050" first="Landen" last="Livingston"] was crucial for a Leo rushing attack that frequently controlled the game. Livingston is heading to Morgantown next year where he will play for the West Virginia Mountaineers. Livingston is a powerful right guard. He plays with tremendous physicality, and he moves extremely well. When Livingston engages his opponent, he does so with intensity, and he dominates throughout the course of the play. Livingston often leaves defenders on the ground. He can be a really good fit in the Big 12 next year.
[player_tooltip player_id="39043" first="Demon" last="Moore"], 6’4, 300 pounds, R. Nelson Snider
Like Leo, Snider’s ability to run the ball helped them win big games this season. A critical player in that effort was [player_tooltip player_id="39043" first="Demon" last="Moore"]. The Indiana commit frequently paved the way for big runs. Moore showcases good footwork through each block. He has great strength, and he plays with good leverage and a solid base. Moore provides great versatility. He can play both guard and tackle, something that will help once he arrives in Bloomington.
[player_tooltip player_id="39041" first="Joey" last="Tanona"], 6’5, 295 pounds, Zionsville, Senior
[player_tooltip player_id="39041" first="Joey" last="Tanona"] is heading to one of the top destinations for offensive linemen in the country: Notre Dame. An athletic left tackle, Tanona helped lead the way for a Zionsville team that made it to the Class 5A State Championship game. Tanona displayed great mobility on his run blocking assignments. He can move across the line very well. Tanona has terrific length, and he uses his hands effectively. Notre Dame will be getting a prospect who always finishes the play. He plays hard until the whistle, often pancaking defenders in the process.
[player_tooltip player_id="262808" first="Ethan" last="Trent"], 6’2, 275 pounds, Carmel, Junior
While the other four student-athletes on today’s list are seniors who are getting ready to play college football next season, [player_tooltip player_id="262808" first="Ethan" last="Trent"] is a rising junior who will be back for another dominant season. Trent was great at the right tackle spot for the Greyhounds this season. He moves his feet well, especially in pass protection. Trent is also a solid run blocker. He can open up the hole on inside runs, and he does a wonderful job of sealing the edge on runs off-tackle. He still has another year to further add to his skillset. Without question, [player_tooltip player_id="262808" first="Ethan" last="Trent"] will be one of the top offensive line prospects in Indiana’s Class of 2023.
[player_tooltip player_id="39056" first="Hunter" last="Whitenack"], 6’7, 290 pounds, New Prairie, Senior
Like [player_tooltip player_id="39043" first="Demon" last="Moore"], [player_tooltip player_id="39056" first="Hunter" last="Whitenack"] will be heading to the Big Ten next year, except instead of playing for IU it will be I-L-L that Whitenack will call home. The Illinois commit, has tremendous size at right tackle. He frequently overpowers defenders and takes them completely out of the play. Whitenack is a fantastic lead blocker. His power and good technique allow him to open up running lanes. He also does a good job of getting to the second level and taking on one of the linebackers.
