During the 2021 Houston high football season I’ve watched a lot of great teams, games and athletes. I have seen a ton of great upperclassmen and a good amount of underclassmen new to high school varsity football. Based off the teams and games I’ve seen this season these are the top Houston area high school senior athletes.

#3 Ridge Point Panthers Bert Emanuel Jr QB Sr 6’4 205 lbs

Bert Emanuel put on a show for his last of high football this season. Bert throws some of the most accurate passes I’ve seen this season. Whether, it was short or long Bert could always throw a perfect spiral. Bert didn’t throw one interception this year. Bert is also very mobile having over 1,000 rushing yards and scored 15 touchdown by himself. Bert is just a great athlete overall and has received attention from a lot different colleges and universities. Bert has college offers from; Texas Southern University, Army Football, Dartmouth College, The University of Colorado and Lamar University. Bert’s overall stats this season was 2,655 passing yards and threw for 31 touchdown passes.

#2 Westfield Mustangs [player_tooltip player_id="60727" first="Cardell" last="Williams"] QB Sr 6’3 175 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id="60727" first="Cardell" last="Williams"] was key to The Westfield Mustangs overwhelming offensive firepower. Cardell had a great arm and had a great offensive line for protection. Cardell had the ability to confidently stay in the pocket and make decisive plays. Cardell was always able to properly utilize his offensive weapons. Cardell is also a top college prospect having numerous college and universities offers, but has decided to commit to University of Tulsa to continue his football career this upcoming fall. Cardell’s overall stats this season was 3,105 passing yard, threw 39 touchdown passes and rushed in for 8 touchdown himself.

Atascocita Eagles #1 [player_tooltip player_id="259868" first="Chase" last="Sowell"] WR Sr 6’3 195 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id="259868" first="Chase" last="Sowell"] is a great and reliable wide receiver he was able to catch almost every pass thrown to him. Chase is tall and speedy using his speed to beat out the defender in front and get open for passes. Chase is also strong and resilient being really difficult to tackle and bring down. Chase is a college prospect having five offers from Sam Houston State University, University of Northern Iowa, Howard Payne University, University of Colorado and University of Texas San Antonio. Chase’s overall stats this season was 72 receptions, 1,378 reception yards and scored 16 touchdowns.

The Westfield Mustangs #10 [player_tooltip player_id="60731" first="Anthony" last="Holmes"] Jr DT, DE Sr 6’2 285 lbs

Defensive linemen [player_tooltip player_id="60731" first="Anthony" last="Holmes"] had an outstanding season for his senior year of football. Anthony is a large body not only that, but he’s also quick and fast off the ball as well. Anthony had excellent footwork and finesse with his swim move. Holmes was able to get off the blocks to get into the backfield. This allowed Anthony to put a stop to a lot of run plays and get a lot of sacks this season. Anthony is a top college prospect having numerous colleges and universities offers. During the season Anthony decided to commit to the University of Virginia, however Anthony renounced his commit and is now committed to the University of Houston for football this fall. Anthony’s overall stats this season was 94 overall tackles, three forced fumbles, one interception and 20 sacks.

The Spring Lions #22 Darryl Doherty OLB, MLB Sr 5’10 195 lbs

A very aggressive and strong linebacker is Spring Lions Darryl Doherty. Darryl was all over the field blitzing, covering and tackling all night. Darryl was always an overwhelming threat against any team he played against. Darryl was very aware and was great at pursuing the ball. Darryl currently has two college offer from Louisiana College and North American University. Darryl’s overall stats this season was 82 overall tackles and one sack.
