As we close on a spectacular 2021 New Jersey high school football season. We're beginning to look ahead, at some of the players we should be watching for the upcoming 2022 season in Group One.
<a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/8488741/Billy-Lindemuth">[player_tooltip player_id="215505" first="Billy" last="Lindemuth"] WR, Audubon, 2023 </a>
At 6’2 165 this young man knows how to get open and can separate at all levels of the field. Understands leverage at such a young age. That specifically helps in separating in deep portions of the field.
He also has a respectable track background. He runs the 100m and 200m events and displays his speed on most deep patterns. He shows solid ability to track the ball in the air for tough catches and does really well-gaining yards after the catch.
Not only can he win deep but he can win in tough contested situations. Regularly going over the middle to make tough catches in traffic, or he’s able to use his 6’2 frame to win above the rim.
This young man has a myriad of ways where he can win. If he can continue to hone his craft as a route runner his future could be very bright.

<a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/15167671/61ca9032ab9ce60b441c42fd">Wilson Torres ATH, Woodbury, 2024</a>
Wilson Torres really can do anything he wants on the football field. With snaps on both sides of the ball from many different alignments. Tying this young man down to just one position doesn’t seem to give his play, its proper respect.

As a sophomore, he scored four touchdowns and showed high-end traits while doing it. He shows the movement skills to play any position he wants. Showing the speed and shiftiness it takes to play wide receiver and the burst and vision to play running back.
He shows the best movement skill as a defensive back, and could easily end up on the defensive player to watch in this group. For now well just admire how good he’s been on offense.

<a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/6432982/Cole-Hughes">[player_tooltip player_id="220047" first="Cole" last="Hughes"] QB, Park Ridge, 2024</a>
A very physically imposing player standing at 6’2 215 as just a sophomore. He has the ability to get it done on the ground and through the air.
As a passer, he’s very adept at making accurate throws under pressure. Shows the ability to stay calm when the pressure is on in the pocket. Can push the ball downfield and accurately place the football in tight windows.
Shows show solid accuracy when throwing the ball on the run. Can extend plays when the pocket breaks down; keeps his eyes downfield, can throw passes to receivers with opportunities after the catch.
Adds value as a runner. Not really running past defenders but running through them. Looks for contact while running really effective at the goalline executing QB power and counter.
Going into his junior year he has much room for improvement. As he learns how to play more in rhythm and on time.

<a href="https://t.co/Tkosjfp2JY">Lawrence Connell Jr HB, Clayton, 2023</a>
At 5’8 180 his stature may not look intimidating but his playstyle is. Has solid vision, able to see most holes open, and adequately read blocks. Show the burst it takes to hit the hole with authority and precision. When at the second level plays a physical brand of football. Looking for contact by lowering his shoulder into defenders. Has uncanny quickness, able to make quick cuts in the hole to force bad angles from defenders
His low center of gravity makes it tough for defenders to tackle him at full speed. Isn’t a burner by any means, but is able to force many missed tackles due to solid contact balance, agility, quickness against second and third-level defenders.
As Connell Jr enters his senior year the Clippers will look for him to shoulder the load and be a difference-maker for their offense.
