This group is slightly younger, but we saw a lot of great first looks and much more on QB prospects throughout Minnesota that make us excited to evaluate the future of QB1s this state has to offer!
Caden Wick | Prior Lake | 2024
Caden was the most impressive new name I learned about from both sessions. He showed great athleticism throughout the sessions with his ability to move cleanly throughout the pocket. Caden unleashed an absolute stinger every time he threw the football with his high level of arm strength. I thought that arm strength I referenced was one of the top ones in this second session. Another kid that finishes his throws at a high level. Caden is also really well put together for his age size wise, so I am excited to watch him blossom over the next two years for the Lakers.
Cole Hentges Cole Hentges 6'0" | 200 lbs | QB Sartell-St. Stephen | 2023 State MN | Sartell | 2023
This was the first session I got to watch Cole fresh out of shoulder surgery (non throwing shoulder) and I can honestly say this heck of a competitor has not skipped a beat at all. Cole continued to show the strong rotation thru his throwing motion that I have seen time and time again over the last few years I have evaluated him. He showed off excellent footwork and has such a great continued feel for the position and owns his craft. Cole did a fantastic job on his deeper throws really maximizing that arm strength of his with excellent accuracy. You not only get a heck of a quarterback in Cole at the next level, you get one of the best leaders I have watched very closely in the Class of 2023 across the Midwest. I am excited to see where this fourth year starter ends up playing college football and how he can rally this Sabres bunch in his senior season.
Charles Hubanks | Minneapolis Southwest | 2024
The Minneapolis Southwest Lakers quarterback of the future, Charles Hubanks showed great poise inside the pocket and terrific balance in his footwork. I also really liked Charles demeanor when going thru his progressions and finishing his throws with great reads. Not a lot of tape on this young man as of yet to look at, but the future looks bright with this young man under center for the Lakers with getting some early looks this winter.
Maxwell Erb Maxwell Erb 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Bloomington Jefferson | 2025 MN | Edina | 2025
Max was the youngest QB prospect in the room, but he showed a handful of flashes at the QB camp last weekend. He showed his best balance on his reads when his reps ran thru the right side when running thru some play action drills. He also had really good touch on the football as well. Based on the film I could find defensively, Max is not the quickest dude on the field, but has a great feel for making a play on the ball at defensive back.
