We’ve got a great mix of size, strengths, weaknesses, etc on this list from all parts of the state. Now, let’s take a glance at 5 more C/O 2024 wide receivers.
Evan Walker Evan Walker 5'10" | 145 lbs | ATH Waverly | 2024 State MI (Waverly)
Walker is the definition of deep threat, as most of his big plays revolve around him catching deep balls. He stands at 5’10″ 145lbs and demonstrates good speed with excellent hands/ball tracking. Walker is seen lining up all over the formation, sometimes out wide, sometimes in the slot. I’m curious to see how Walker improves in 2022. My hope is that he puts on some muscle in the weight room and make steps to become more elusive on Friday Nights. Overall, I could see Evan Walker Evan Walker 5'10" | 145 lbs | ATH Waverly | 2024 State MI breaking out this year.
Chase Cline Chase Cline 6'3" | 190 lbs | WR Wyandotte Roosevelt | 2024 State MI (Wyandotte)
I really like Cline’s game. He stats don’t jump off the wall, but he’s a physical receiver that is able to make some tough catches. He’s 6’2 190lbs and showcases great speed. He’s Red Zone and deep threat that is already very polished at winning jump balls and getting his feet in, though I would like him to touch up on some of the route running and elusiveness. No matter what, I expect Cline to have a much improved 2022 season.
Wyatt Bower Wyatt Bower 6'2" | 175 lbs | ATH Corunna | 2024 State MI (Corunna)
Bower has experience playing many positions, yet he did his best work at receiver. Bower is 6’1″ 175lbs and provides a great mix of elusiveness and route running. His elusiveness and route running come largely from his balance as a WR/DB. There are times where it looks like he’ll get tackled, yet somehow Bower stays up and charges forward. Wyatt Bower Wyatt Bower 6'2" | 175 lbs | ATH Corunna | 2024 State MI is a name I’ll try to keep an eye on.
Chaz Vida Chaz Vida 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR West Catholic | 2024 MI (West Catholic)
Vida has been locally known as a great up-and-comer for some time now, though a torn ACL sidelined him for most of the 2021 season. Vida showed flashes of being a great all-around receiver, having good speed, eleusiveness, physicality, footwork, release, etc. Of course, coming back from a torn ACL is no small task. West Catholic is right in my backyard, so I’ll undoubtedly be following up on Vida sometime this coming season.
Sammy Agnello Sammy Agnello 5'8" | 145 lbs | DB Utica Eisenhower | 2024 State MI (Utica Eisenhower)
Agnello is a deep threat with great hands, though shows promise in other aspects. He’s a good all-around receiver playing for a team that could break out this season. Agnello is able to run some nice-looking short routes (out, hitch, slant) and is sometimes able to gain some extra yardage after the catch. All in all, if he never let’s the grind stop, Sammy Agnello Sammy Agnello 5'8" | 145 lbs | DB Utica Eisenhower | 2024 State MI will have a significantly improved 2022 season.
