2023 6’5 205 DL Dylan Gooden Dylan Gooden 6'5" | 205 lbs | DL Our Lady of Good Counsel | 2023 State MD – Good Counsel
Dylan Gooden Dylan Gooden 6'5" | 205 lbs | DL Our Lady of Good Counsel | 2023 State MD was recently ranked the #5 overall player in the 2023 class, according to the new Prep Redzone rankings. He’s an extremely efficient edge rusher, and he possesses a plethora of different moves he uses to evade offensive linemen. He makes his spin moves and arm chops look easy, but in reality they’re advanced moves that he has perfected as a Junior. Gooden is also a very skilled player in the defensive secondary. He seamlessly drops back into coverage and makes big plays defending the pass. There’s a reason that Dylan Gooden Dylan Gooden 6'5" | 205 lbs | DL Our Lady of Good Counsel | 2023 State MD is one of the highest ranked defensive linemen in his class, and he has already received offers from elite power five conference schools such as Louisville and West Virginia. There’s no doubt that Gooden will continue to dominate in 2022.
2023 6’2 210 DL Kevin Wilson III – Archbishop Carroll
Kevin Wilson III was one of Archbishop Carroll’s top defensive linemen this season. He averaged more than 6 tackles per game, and he was also particularly efficient applying pressure when lined up on the inside. Wilson and the Carroll Lions were nearly perfect this season, losing only one game, and they only allowed around 8 points per game on average. There’s no question that Kevin Wilson is primed for another breakout season in 2022, because he absolutely proved his dominance on the defensive line this year. He’s an elite division one level talent.
2022 6’2 190 DB David Okechukwu – Archbishop Carroll
David Okechukwu was very dominant in the secondary for the Lions this season. He led the District of Columbia in interceptions with six, and he locked down about 95% of the receivers he was matched up with. He was also named to the All-WCAC Defensive First Team at the defensive back position. David Okechukwu is one hundred percent a top five defensive back in the WCAC, and he should have the option of playing division one football in 2022 if he so chooses. He would make any defensive secondary that he joined much better.
2023 5’10 180 DB Christian Rawlings – St. John’s
Christian Rawlings is one of the best overall football players in the WCAC. He was named to the WCAC 2nd team as a utility player, and that’s largely due to his dominance in the secondary and on special teams. He’s an incredible open field tackler for his size, and his closing speed is some of the best in his class. Christian Rawlings was an integral part of St. Johns’ dominant defense this season, and he’s in a phenomenal position to have another breakout season next year. He’s an elite division one level talent.

Prep Redzone’s new rankings placed Zahbari Sandy Zahbari Sandy 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB St. John's | 2023 State MD within the top 3 for defensive backs in is class. There are very few defensive backs with more skill at the position than Zahbari Sandy Zahbari Sandy 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB St. John's | 2023 State MD , and he defends the pass better than pretty much anyone in the conference. He recorded multiple interceptions this season, and he allowed minimal plays of more than twenty five yards downfield amidst all of his matchups. St. Johns’ defense has a lot of division one level talent, and Zahbari Sandy Zahbari Sandy 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB St. John's | 2023 State MD might just be atop of the list. He’s a master at the defensive back position, and scouts everywhere should expect him to continue his dominance in 2022.
