The staff completed a review of the 65 players for the updated player rankings a few days ago. I am going to review a few of the new players that were added to the group of 2024 players.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="163836" first="Lucas" last="Mullins"], QB, (No. 11 QB), 5’9" 160, Green Hope HS</strong>. Lucas displayed good arm strength on the medium range passes delivered on target in the film watched. He primarily sets up in the shotgun-formation and displayed quickness to elude pressure in the backfield. [player_tooltip player_id="163836" first="Lucas" last="Mullins"] displayed good speed to run past defenders when he tucked it and ran to gain yardage. Lucas is expected to continue to improve his skill set with off-season training and participating in summer prospect camps.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="132419" first="Will" last="Jones"], RB, (No. 8 RB), 5’11" 195, Cannon School</strong>. Will displayed good vision while looking for an opening to accelerate past defenders in the open field to gain big yardage, scoring often. He displayed the ability to make the initial tackler miss on several plays. Will displayed good hands making catches in traffic on the pass plays. [player_tooltip player_id="132419" first="Will" last="Jones"] finished the season with 1,386 rushing yards, 21 rushing TDs, 32 catches for 441 yards and 6 TDs receptions. Will’s high level of play is expected to continue, and he will move up in future running back rankings.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="264950" first="Cameron" last="Cornthwaite"], WR, (No. 7 WR), 5’9" 160, Apex Friendship HS</strong>. Cameron ran good pass routes and separation from defenders to make catches. He displayed good hands and concentration on the ball to make catches in traffic. Cameron has good speed in the open field as he ran past defenders to gain big yardage. [player_tooltip player_id="264950" first="Cameron" last="Cornthwaite"] is expected to continue to improve his skill set with off-season training and participating in summer prospect camps.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="204758" first="Carlis" last="Sample Jr"]., DL (No. 6 DL), 5’11" 230, White Oak HS</strong>. Carlis displayed good footwork and quickness coming out of his stance to control blockers. He moved quickly in tight spaces to move past blockers to stop the play, often for losses. [player_tooltip player_id="204758" first="Carlis" last="Sample Jr"]. displayed good use of hands and strength to control blockers and make the stop on most plays. He is expected to continue to improve his skill set with off-season training and participating in summer prospect camps.
