Here are some rising senior WRs to keep an eye out for.
Jackson Head Jackson Head 6'3" | 210 lbs | TE River Ridge | 2023 State GA | 6’3 | River Ridge
Head is every bit of 6’3 225 and plays the tight end position well. He is an aggressive blocker who can get downfield and escort ball carriers to big gains, but he can also drive a defender out of the picture and open up running holes. He is not limited to that blocking ability, as he can split out wide as a receiver. For a player of his size, he is a fluid route runner and can create separation from most defenders. In traffic, he uses his body to shield off defenders and create leverage. All in all, he is a versatile and high-IQ player who should see his stock start to rise.
Darrius Cannon | 5’9 | Gainesville
Cannon does not claim any offers right now, but that is sure to change here soon. He plays like lightning in a bottle. Once he gets the ball in space, there are hardly any players at the high school level that can take him down 1 on 1. He can change direction with ease and make people miss in space. Because of that, he is able to hurt the defense in the passing and rushing game. That change of direction also translates to his route running and ability to get open. He can also go up and win 50/50 balls as his vertical is impressive to watch. Cannon should start to make some noise on the national level here soon, especially after transferring to Gainesville high.
Luke Logan | 6’5 | Lambert
Logan is another big TE prospect that is intriguing to watch, but he is more of a receiving threat than anything else. For someone at 6’5 220, Logan has some impressive speed. From the TE position, he can be seen eating up grass with his long strides and getting behind the defense. Because of that, he is a big-time deep threat. His size alone also makes him a mismatch nightmare for defensive coordinators. Not many people can defend against his size, which makes him an often target in red-zone situations. With plenty of room to fill out and maximize his frame, Logan has a high ceiling and should be fun to watch in 2023.
Ethan Crite | 6’2 | Roswell
Crite’s Twitter bio says he has 4.4 speed, and his tape backs that up. He is also a big-time track and field talent as well. So to say he is fast would be an understatement. “Electric” would be a better way to describe him. Crite is just naturally gifted. His speed and explosiveness make it hard for any defender to match up with him. He is able to get behind the defense and be a deep ball threat, but he can also make defenders miss with the ball in space. Watch out for Crite this season, as his stock should explode.
Ayden Jackson | 6’0 | Kell
Jackson plays on both sides of the ball, but his play at WR is what stands out to us on film. Jackson is yet another player with big-time speed. He can take the top off the defense with his speed and is almost impossible to contain in a 1 on 1 matchup. Is a touchdown threat every time he touches the ball, whether it is on a screen or whether he is going downfield. The kind of guy you try to get the ball to, because he makes magic when he gets it.
