Here are some impressive 2023 North Georgia defensive lineman to know about…
Lebbeus Overton Lebbeus Overton 6'4" | 245 lbs | DL Milton | 2022 GA – EDGE – Milton
One of the top overall defenders across the country, Lebbeus Overton Lebbeus Overton 6'4" | 245 lbs | DL Milton | 2022 GA elite EDGE defender in the 2023 class who can get after the passer with the best of them. The 6-foot-5 260-pounder is a great athlete who can turn around and make plays on offense as well. He’s a game-wrecker off the edge and lightning-quick off the snap. He can beat opposing tackles with speed, power, and technique. He moves well for his size and shows some explosiveness off the ball when getting after the passer. Overton led the state in sacks as a sophomore in 2020 and quickly saw his recruitment take off. He missed some time with an injury in 2021, but still showed he’s one of the best pass rushers and overall EDGE defenders not only in Georgia, but across the country. He holds offers from Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, among others.
Nathan Efobi Nathan Efobi 6'4" | 285 lbs | DL South Forsyth | 2023 State GA – South Forsyth – Defensive Line
One of the top 2023 defensive line prospects in the state, the 6-foot-3 285-pounder was tough to handle this season for opposing offensive linemen. He was double-teamed often but has still managed to make a giant impact and lead a defense a strong South Forsyth defense all season. He’s strong at the point of attack and can closes those running lanes in a hurry. He’s big, active, and he’s only getting better. He’s using his hands better and becoming more fundamentally and technically sound the more he plays. His best football is ahead of him, and that’s a very good thing for the South Forsyth in 2022. Efobi recently earned an offer from Miami and we expect more to come his soon.
After an amazing talk with @CoachMirabal I am blessed to receive a scholarship from the University of Miami.#hurricanes@CanesFootball @SFHS_Football @Coach__Hammy @jeffsentell @RecruitGeorgia @MattDeBary pic.twitter.com/EKbHswc8tB

Kayden McDonald Kayden McDonald 6'0" | 290 lbs | DL North Gwinnett | 2023 State GA – DL – North Gwinnett
Another elite 2023 defensive line prospect in Georgia, McDonald is a thick, powerful 6-foot-3 325-pounds with lots of sudden quickness for his size. You don’t normally see interior defensive linemen towards the top of the sack leader in the state, but that’s how good MCDonald was this past season, playing against some of the best competition in the state. The dominant defensive tackle had a record seven sacks against South Forsyth in the playoffs, showing he can be an absolute game-changer there. His quickness of the ball for someone his size makes him on of the state’s best. He plays with leverage and it’s easy to see his strength and raw power when he’s running through opposing offensive linemen in the trenches. McDonald had 19 sacks, 2nd most in the 2023 class, and 15 more QB hurries.
Adonijah Green Adonijah Green 6'5" | 205 lbs | DL Cedar Grove | 2023 State GA – Cedar Grove
The Saints have one of the best defensive lines across the peach state, and Green is one of the best they have. He was one of the hottest prospects back in the summer, earning recent offers from Georgia Tech, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Arkansas State, Western Kentucky, and Middle Tennessee State. He’s not the biggest defensive end at just 6-foot-5 215-pounds, but he’s long, athletic, and made a big impact this season, helping lead Cedar Grove to another state championship. His speed alone makes him a terror off the edge and he was able to get to the QB with ease. As he continues to add more strength and muscle, while keeping his speed and athleticism, Green could turn into one of the top edge defenders in the state for the 2023 class.
AJ Hoffler AJ Hoffler 6'5" | 245 lbs | DL Woodward Academy | 2023 State GA – Woodward Academy
One of the fastest-rising DE prospects in the state, the 6-foot-5 245-pound Atlanta native from Woodward Academy is in the middle of seeing his recruitment take off since as he was able to get to the QB with ease last fall. He’s a terrific pass-rusher and has proved it this year with 9 sacks. When he meets the ball-carrier, he knows how to deliver a big hit. He’s great in pursuit and finds a way to rip the ball out when he gets there. He’s a guy who demands double teams, and if he doesn’t, he’s going to make a big play. He holds impressive offers from Ohio State, Auburn, Penn State, among others.
