The importance of the Quarterback position has dramatically risen over the years. If you don’t have a solid quarterback your team almost more times than not, suffers, and CAN NOT reach its full potential.
As we look towards the 2023 class and their future prospects. We’ll start with Quarterbacks and their specific features. These are some quarterbacks that have bright future prospects and that we’ll be keeping a very close eye on. How they progress through their senior seasons.

At 6’3 175 [player_tooltip player_id="214414" first="Van" last="Weber"] has excellent pocket presence. Does all the little things right which makes him a technician at the position. He is seen many times on tape keeping his eyes downfield amidst pressure delivering accurate deep balls.

While taking a deep dive into his tape. Although, you would love to see some sort of athletic ability and play out of structure. He looked to have the best ball placement of any quarterback in this class. He excelled at throwing the football outside the numbers, giving his receivers many opportunities for yards after the catch.

He’s on the list because he has much room to grow in the position. Would like to see some sort of play out of structure, but the things that matter at this position, are can you deliver the football accurately and on time? Which he excels at.

<a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/15327538/Anthony-Jehn"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="214412" first="Anthony" last="Jehn"], Monmouth </strong></a>
[player_tooltip player_id="214412" first="Anthony" last="Jehn"] has solid tape. The word that best describes his game is quick. He works very quickly through his progressions. Getting off his first read in a timely manner progressing to the second and third reads. He also gets the ball out very quickly. Has a very quick release with a ball that is delivered with velocity.
He falls on the microscope list because we need to see him complete a higher percentage of his passes and be allowed more opportunities to attack down the football. He possesses all the tools physically to do so and he could be one of the hottest names by the time he finishes his senior year.
<a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/12795502/619bd70cff0cdc09788d8281"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="207203" first="Brevin" last="Cooney"], Ridgefield Park</strong></a>
Cooney is one of the most dynamic players at the position. At 6’1 he shows the ability to hang in the pocket under pressure and deliver footballs accurately down the field.
Usually at the high school level "smaller" quarterbacks don’t attack the middle of the football field often. Cooney does it pretty well and with regularity, and more importantly, accurately.
His accuracy is very consistent. He shows the same accuracy in a clean pocket that he does under pressure on the move. He completes a good portion of tight-window throws in a clean pocket and on the move and has the most consistent game. In terms of making throws in a clean pocket or under pressure. This is very impressive for a quarterback 6’1 and he lands on the microscope list because he can play better than he did his junior year. If he can replicate what he did this past season his stock is going to fly to the moon.
