2022 Rankings Newcomers: Linebackers

Much like the defensive linemen, the new 2022 rankings feature some impressive addition as well. These two linebackers really stood out this season with their performances. Both have displayed the skills and talents necessary for elite linebackers. These two linebackers are ferocious, focused, and are disruptive. These are the two biggest newcomers to the 2022 rankings. 1. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="241703" first="Ben" last="Roberts"] - Eaton High School (Haslet, TX)</strong> The Texas Tech signee has made waves this season. He has displayed excellent speed in his highlight tapes. He creates constant disruption in the backfield. Sometimes Roberts also fills in the safety position and can make some excellent open-field tackles. His play recognition is also impressive. All around, Roberts is a fantastic defensive player and a great addition to the Red Raiders. 2. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="257034" first="Jacob" last="Villela"] - Tyler High School (Tyler, TX)</strong> For Villela, he has showcased ferocity and a willingness to finish each play. He also has a lot of focus on each and every play. He seems to be constantly around the ball and has impressive awareness even with blockers in the way. He is a fantastic tackler and has the right form, always wrapping his arms around the ball carrier to prevent broken tackles. Villela is a very skilled linebacker and a worthy addition to the rankings.
