A hot start from the quarterback, a receiver who made waves, a defense that forced four turnovers and a kicker who came through in the clutch all equated to a 20-17 South victory in Saturday’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl.
The game, played at Myrtle Beach’s Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium, was the final prep contest for the state’s seniors, many of whom are already committed to various colleges are will do so in the coming weeks.
<strong>DEFENSE</strong>
[player_tooltip player_id="89318" first="Demetrius" last="Watson"], Fort Dorchester - In addition to his 5.5 tackles, including two for loss, Watson had what amounted to the game-winning sack on North’s final possession of the afternoon.

He also picked up a backward pass that ended up on the ground to set up South’s game-winning points with under 2 minutes to go.
<strong>Tyree Prunes</strong>, C.E. Murray - The defensive back picked off a pair of [player_tooltip player_id="153264" first="Trent" last="Pearman"] passes in the game, both in the third quarter. The first led to a field goal that at the time extended South’s lead to 17-3.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
<strong>Kwantre Harry</strong>, Lee Central - Harry had the first South interception of the game when he picked off [player_tooltip player_id="89316" first="Will" last="Mattison"] in the second quarter. Moments later, South’s offense turned it into its second touchdown.
<strong>OFFENSE</strong>
[player_tooltip player_id="59494" first="Ryan" last="Burger"], Myrtle Beach - The Seahawk quarterback announced his presence with authority, throwing for two first-half touchdowns. He was sacked four times in the second half, so his production slowed, but he still ended up with 159 yards on 16-of-21 passing.
[player_tooltip player_id="200731" first="Carlton" last="Terry"], Conway - The one-year receiver finished his high school career with a game-high 96 receiving yards on nine receptions. He put the first points of the game on the board with his 23-yard touchdown grab from Burger in the opening quarter.
[player_tooltip player_id="59464" first="Adam" last="Randall"], Myrtle Beach - Randall was double-covered most of the game. However, he still managed to catch three passes for 53 yards and a second-quarter touchdown.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
[player_tooltip player_id="91237" first="Drew" last="Stevens"], North Augusta - The Iowa commit put an exclamation point on his prep career by kicking two field goals, including the game winner with 1:54 left to play in the game. He also drilled both of his PATs.
