As the season draws to an end, we look at the top senior quarterbacks who produced in the Houston area this season. Many of the players listed will stand out, as they had incredible seasons, leading their teams to the playoffs and other names may look fairly new. All of the players below gave it their all for their last season and shall be recognized for their efforts. Houston once again shows it is a pool of outstanding talent in just about every area. [player_tooltip player_id="251888" first="Jake" last="Wright"] - St. Thomas Catholic 3,750 Passing Yards - 72% Completion - 43 Passing TDs -1 INT Wright was easily one of the best quarterbacks in the state for the season. His ability to manage the pocket and make the accurate throw downfield separated him from most. Wright took care of the ball as well, which helped his team finish with an 8-3 record. Wright showed excellent arm talent, and looked good on his throws on the run. Wright was consistent the whole season which deserves top praise. He is a very good talent who can bring a winning edge to any program [player_tooltip player_id="251890" first="Bishop" last="Davenport"] - Spring 3,807 Passing Yards - 68% Completion - 41 Passing TDs - 10 INTs - 766 Rushing Yards - 7 Rushing TDs The Utah State Aggie commit showed that he was an incredible talent and could deliver when needed. Davenport was one of the best this year, putting up ridiculous numbers and making those around him better. Watching him play was pure excitement and his skills are undeniable. Strong arm, deep ball accuracy is one of the best, and his ability to dictate a game from the pocket. He showed great poise in the pocket, and never looked flustered. Davenport delivered game after game, and had an incredible senior year, helping his team go 11-2. I am excited to see how this special talented player grows in the future. Bert Emanuel Jr. - Ridge Point 2,655 Passing Yards - 60% Completion Percentage - 31 Passing TDs - 0 INTs - 1,030 Rushing Yards - 15 Rushing TDs Emanuel Jr. had a senior season for the ages. He displayed excellent leadership and took over games when needed. Emanuel Jr. took command of every game showed off his skills. He showed great agility and pocket awareness, and a good ball while on the run. Emanuel Jr. was elusive in the pocket, always keeping his eyes down the field, and delivered strikes to his receivers. Emanuel Jr. was just as lethal with his feet as his arm. His long strides outran defenses and opposing teams had tough times containing this top notch athlete. Emanuel Jr. definitely left his mark at Ridge Point. [player_tooltip player_id="60727" first="Cardell" last="Williams"] - Westfield 3,117 Passing Yards - 62% Completion Percentage - 39 Passing TDs - 5 INTs - 271 Rushing Yards - 8 Rushing TDs The Tulsa commit had a very impressive senior season, putting his leadership and experience on display. Williams ability to extend plays and make the difficult throws under pressure was a sight to see. He controlled the offense year long and did what he had to in order to secure wins which played a big factor in their 12-1 record. He stood tall in the pocket and delivered dimes and showed that he can be elusive when he needs to be. Very bright future for Williams! [player_tooltip player_id="125233" first="Demetrias" last="Charles"] - Channelview 2,152 Passing Yards - 62% Completion Percentage - 29 Passing TDs - 6 INTs - 1,052 Rushing Yards - 17 Rushing TDs Charles was the ultimate playmaker for his team and did everything in his power to get the wins. He did it anything that was asked and improvised at the right moments. Charles showed very good pocket awareness and delivered a very good deep ball. When he felt the pocket collapse, Charles made things happen with his feet. He showed to be a great ball carrier his arm really hurt teams. Whenever you thought he was bottled, Charles made something happen. Charles is an excellent ball player who gave it his all his senior year and recognition is well deserved. [player_tooltip player_id="252402" first="Cole" last="Francis"] - Tompkins 2,385 Passing Yards - 62% Completion Percentage - 22 Passing TDs - 5 INTs Francis was the manager Tompkins thrived with this season. His ability to throw the deep ball and make plays with his legs helped them in big ways. Francis did a great job at getting the ball to his playmakers and let them do work in space. He was careful with the ball and got the ball out quick, which helped an already lethal offense. Francis put up very good numbers and helped his team to an 11 win season. [player_tooltip player_id="60702" first="Conner" last="Weigman"] - Bridgeland 2,588 Passing Yards - 63% Completion Percentage - 29 Passing TDs - 6 INTs - 754 Rushing Yards - 9 Rushing TDs Despite being bit by the injury bug for a couple of games, Weigman was still able to show his dominance in the games he played. He showed excellent anticipation on his throws, and showed a great ability to extend plays and make something out of nothing. Weigman is lethal with his legs and it is something teams learned the hard way. Weigman showed that he will lay his body on the line for that extra hard and is a true competitor. The A&M Aggies have a good one coming in and be prepared to hear his name in the future on Saturdays. [player_tooltip player_id="251910" first="CJ" last="Dumas"] - Paetow Dumas has been everything you would want in a quarterback this season. The senior just delivers. He is the leader you want and the playmaker who brings in wins. Dumas has an excellent deep ball that he puts great touch on, and is quick on his reads. In a run heavy offense, Dumas makes defenses pay when they decide to cheat on the run. His ability to get the ball out before the defense has a chance to react makes him dangerous. Dumas and the Panthers are still fighting in the playoffs behind a power offense and stout defense, and Dumas plays a big role in their success. [player_tooltip player_id="252401" first="Cale" last="Hellums"] - Tomball 1,950 Passing Yards - 63% Completion Percentage - 22 Passing TDs - 5 INTs - 1,828 Rushing Yards - 17 Rushing TDs Hellums has been on another level during this current playoff run. He has put the team on his back multiple times and showed that he was the top dawg on the field. His running abilities separate him from everybody else. Hellums can outrun a defense or run through those who try to stop him. He has a nose for the endzone and will not be denied his opportunity to score. He has showed that he is an excellent leader and that his team rallies behind him. [player_tooltip player_id="126789" first="Carson" last="Roper"] - Klein Cain 2,825 Passing Yards - 65% Completion Percentage - 27 Passing TDs - 7 INTs - 905 Rushing Yards - 15 Rushing TDs Roper showed that he deserves a dual threat title in his name. The young man can fly when he was asked to do so. Roper had a productive senior year, helping his team to a 9-3 record and a second round playoff birth. Roper was his best on play action passes, hitting his target in stride. He was accurate on his passes down the seam, and showed that he was extremely dangerous with his feet in the open field. Roper had good size and is a competitor who can bring good things to a program. Other Notable Senior Quarterbacks [player_tooltip player_id="60823" first="Cameron" last="McCalister"] - Clear Brook 2,208 Passing Yards - 61% Completion Percentage - 22 Passing TDs - 11 INTs Ty Buckmon - College Park 2,436 Yards - 64% Completion Percentage - 24 TDs - 6 INTs - 468 Rushing Yards - 11 Rushing TDs [player_tooltip player_id="251912" first="Clayton" last="Garlock"] - Conroe 3,263 Passing Yards - 60% Completion Percentage - 26 Passing TDs - 9 INTs - 840 Rushing Yards - 9 Rushing TDs [player_tooltip player_id="127945" first="Cornelius" last="Banks II"] - New Caney 2,079 Passing Yards - 67% Completion Percentage - 20 Passing TDs - 7 INTs Cody Kuhlmann - Clear Springs 2,322 Passing Yards - 55 % Completion Percentage - 35 Passing TDs - 8 INTs [player_tooltip player_id="60802" first="Jalen" last="Morrison"] - Heights 2,186 Passing Yards - 64% Completion Percentage - 20 Passing TDs - 10 INTs Jett Huff - College Station 2,779 Passing Yards - 76% Completion Percentage - 41 Passing TDs - 4 INTs
