Here we have some of the best corners and safety to lockdown and put their opposition on islands. The seniors listed below may be names you have seen before and rightfully so, but we will also have some new names to bring light to some outstanding defenders. &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Dejuan Lewis - Shadow Creek</strong></span></em></span> Want to talk about a safety who can separate the ball from a player, here is the guy. Lewis is a game changer. The downhill speed to attack the run game and the natural football instinct, Lewis is just a special player. He plays fast and fearless, and no moment is too big for him. Lewis finished his senior season with an incredible statline. 96 tackles, 8 PBUs, 7 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 interceptions. Incredible player here who deserves the shine. <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11600262/616e2b225eedac0728266223" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Jeffery Foster - Spring</strong></span></em></span> A dynamic corner who can play safety just as well, Foster is a player with incredible awareness and ball skills. He reads plays quickly and shows great recovery and closing speed. In coverage, Foster can stick with anybody and plays the ball very well. Foster finished his season with 6 interceptions, 6 PBUs, and 40 tackles. <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/13154986/61a6245ba0199f0a206e3907" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Blake Yokeley - Klein Cain</strong></span></em></span> Yokeley showed to be a very good center fielder in the secondary and proved to be great help on the deep ball. He plays very well in between the hashes and can cover much ground. Yokeley shows the ability to play the ball comfortably and can separate a receiver from the ball. He comes downhill when needed to make stops and does an excellent job of reading the opposing quarterback. Yokeley tallied 68 tackles and 4 interceptions for his senior year. <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11298686/61a68cfeda515e0a480f674e" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Byron Johnson - College Station</strong></span></em></span> Johnson has been balling the entire year and made many waves during the state game. He is a player who is everywhere and who just has a nose for the ball. Johnson plays downhill and attacks without hesitation. He is great at angles and beating players to a spot before they can get there. His anticipation and play recognition makes him standout from the rest. Johnson is an incredible safety who gets the job done and who will make you remember who hit you. On the year Johnson racked up 95 tackles, 9 PBUs, 1 interception returned for a TD, and a forced fumble. <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11618710/6153dbb23deb770dacd4279b" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Fordham Parks - Cinco Ranch</strong></span></em></span> Parks plays the entire field and plays with a fire. He flies to the ball and is a ball hawk when its in his vicinity. Parks moves so fast in the secondary if you blink you will lose him. He plays sideline to sideline and reads the opposing quarterbacks eyes like a book. Parks plays the run just as well as the pass, and anticipates the flow of the ball and meets running backs before they can get a head of steam. 99 tackles, 10 TFLs, 5 interceptions and 11 PBUs on the year where he just balled out. <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/3195074/61b65913bd755f0b9078660f" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="258493" first="Kentrell" last="Webb"] - Paetow</strong></span></em></span> The Defensive MVP of the 5A DI State Game, sounds like a fitting title for Webb and an outstanding accomplishment for his game. Webb is a hard hitting safety who plays the ball like a receiver. He is a player who leads by example and his play on the field played a major role in the teams success. The way he covered the middle of the field, the momentum shifting hits, and acrobatic interceptions, Webb was a star his senior year. He racked up a total of 44 tackles and 10 interceptions for his senior season and a ring to go along with it. Excellent player who makes those around him better. <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11570175/61c3b307f5604c08ac7a8e06" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Jakobe Crawford - C.E. King</strong></span></em></span> Another safety who made great plays in the box and played downhill with a purpose. Crawford made plays all over the field, and flexed his muscles when he had to. He showed excellent recovery in the secondary when he was intially beat and played the ball incredibly well. Crawford located the open running lanes and made plays on the ball carrier before they got rolling. He showed great strength and was fearless when he touched the field. Crawford finished his season with 77 tackles, 4 sacks, 9 PBUs, and 5 interceptions. <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11906648/61aa275a3df5110e5cc588fa" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="258499" first="Graham" last="Gillespie"] - Bridgeland</strong></span></em></span> Gillespie held down the back end of the Bridgeland defense. He had his eyes everywhere and showed to be quick on reads and play recognition. Gillespie rarely let plays get behind him and he mad incredible plays with the ball in the air, which led to his 9 interceptions and 13 PBUs. He played physically and his movements were quick and precise. Gillespie definitely gained attention with his play. He finished the season with 88 tackles with 7 being TFLs. <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11799713/6159bab0bd7562094cf52e8e" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 18pt;"><strong>Other Notable Top Defensive Backs:</strong></span> &nbsp; <span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><em><strong>Jacobe Chester - Fort Bend Marshall</strong></em></span> <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11667574/619710fe0661820b7866f175" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Samuel Kalu - Tompkins</strong></span></em></span> <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11340626/61a99b44041f0c07d0c62227" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Joshua Ciers - Cy Ranch</strong></span></em></span> <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11329860/6163406adfd84606aceea0f9" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="60741" first="Julian" last="Humphrey"] - Clear Lake</strong></span></em></span> <iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11463905/6154bcf64796d515087acbe4" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="60691" first="Denver" last="Harris"] - North Shore</strong></span></em></span> &nbsp;
