State Championship Games: Norcal Players to Know: Pt. 1

As the California football season enters into the final weekend, many state championships across multiple divisions will be played and there are some key players to watch across Northern California. Below, we will name and breakdown some of the players that are worth watching as they lead their team to a potential state title. <hr />   QB, [player_tooltip player_id="141901" first="Dominique" last="Lampkin"], Serra HS Lampkin is a big time college prospect with offers from multiple FBS schools from the likes of Fresno State, Illinois State and New Mexico among other FCS schools in the mix as well. A very dynamic athlete, he can stretch the field with his legs and throws a nice deep ball while showing good arm strength and touch downfield. If Serra is to pull off the upset against Mater Dei, he needs to have a big game for the Padres and has the tools to do so.   RB/LB, Petelo Richards-Gi, Serra HS A punishing runner between the tackles and a very instinctual linebacker, the Serra two-way star plays a big part on both sides of the ball and makes his presence felt. Playing with tremendous toughness and physicality, he is an excellent open field tackler while closing quickly and bringing a nice thump upon contact. With the ball in his hands, he looks for contact and has a nice forward lean while showing he can run behind his pads and bounce off tacklers.   QB, Dreyan Paul, McClymonds HS McClymonds has many explosive athletes on both sides of the ball, but Paul is very dynamic and can make big plays from the quarterback position. Possessing a under-rated arm, he is a dynamic runner with an elite initial burst and shows good vision in tight windows while able to make defenders miss in the open field and bounce outside when needed.   LB, [player_tooltip player_id="187004" first="Riley" last="Hernandez"], Liberty-Bakersfield HS Currently committed to Sacramento State, Hernandez passes the eye test and plays with a relentless motor from his middle linebacker position. A true thumper tackle to tackle, he is athletic enough to run with backs and tight ends while showing he can fill quickly and shock bigger lineman with a nice punch and the ability to shed blocks quickly. A true plug on the Liberty defense, he will be a key player in this matchup.   LB, WR Lucas Wolfe, Folsom HS Wolfe can do a little bit of everything for the Bulldogs, and although a bit undersized, he is extremely built and very physical in the box which more than makes up for it. Able to play linebacker or rush off the edge, he plays with heavy hands, good leverage and shows hip fluidity in space and when breaking to ball carriers while tackling through his target.   Other Top Players To Watch...
