Listed below are some Oregon 5A athletes who could see themselves make a nice jump when the PRZ rankings are updated shortly. Have a look.. *No Particular Order Jeremiah Schwartz 6-3 185 TE/WR 23’ Ridgeview- One of the fastest rising athletes state wide at the 5A level. He has legit size and had a phenomenal year, finishing 7th in the state in receiving yards (28 receptions 683 yards) and tied for 2nd in receiving TDs (9), during the regular season. Schwartz earned 1st team all league and honorable mention all state honors. [player_tooltip player_id="205812" first="Kohler" last="Hernandez"] 5-10 175 RB 23’ Central- Hernandez had a breakout season and carried the load for a (2-7) Central team. Without him it would have been rough as he averaged 6.5 ypc during the regular season, totaling 1,069 yards and 10 TDs (130 yards per game). [player_tooltip player_id="206770" first="Payton" last="Lambert"] 6-0 190 RB/ATH 23’ Pendleton- One of the top baseball players anywhere in the region can also play some football. He earned 1st team all league honors, finishing tied for 8th in Oregon at the 5A level with 12 TDs. Caiden Lacey 6-3 205 QB 23’ Eagle Point- Lacey finished in the top 10 in passing yards state wide at the 5A level with (1,521), throwing 15 TDs and hitting on 62% of his passes. He was a 1st team all league kid, and an intriguing prospect with his size and arm. Lacey recently made the move to 6A North Medford. Owen Hess 6-0 170 Safety 23’ Dallas- 2022 Standout [player_tooltip player_id="143914" first="Logan" last="Person"] is one of the best players to come out of Dallas in some time. Hess is another player who earned 1st team all conference accolades, while finishing 4th in Oregon at the 5A level in tackles (92). [player_tooltip player_id="110233" first="Darien" last="Witham"] 5-10 170 23’ Thurston- Everyone wants a kid like Witham on their team. He plays QB but projects at DB where he earned 1st team all state honors as a Junior. Alex Briseno 5-10 170 23’ Silverton- Definitely one of Oregon’s breakout performers at the 5A level. He went for 1,077 rushing and receiving yards and 17 TDs on the year, earning honorable mention all state honors for the state champs. Braden Snoderly 6-2 210 LB 23’ Canby- Canby will be a force at the 5A level for years to come under Jimmy Joyce. Snoderly finished in the top 10 in tackles state wide with 77 and will be a conference POY favorite next season. Luke Bensching 5-10 165 DB 23’ Pendleton- Not a lot of people know about the kids out in Eastern Oregon but the Buccaroos got a couple dudes. Look for Bensching to do a little bit of everything next season, after earning 1st team all conference honors this fall. Travis Grantom 6-0 215 DL 24’ Willamette- Only a Sophomore and not a lot is known about Grantom. He earned 2nd team all conference accolades as a youngster, so he will be one to watch in the years ahead.
